Viper is a tough match for chun.
My notes on that are:
NO fireballs. They will get you killed.
Use c.forward to disarm her flame kick game.
Use her throw range to your advantage. A forward throw sets chunner up for a much safer jump in because they cannot quick stand.
Neutral jump fierce can hurt viper in the air but only if you get your hitbox out before the flame kick.
that actually helps alot tnx im going to practice that… anything for cammy?
Remember that she has NO overhead aside from jumping attacks. Even EX hooligan you can disarm by simply blocking low. That drives cammy players a bit crazy (I know because I play cammy).
Against cammy, you want to use kikoken pressure UNTIL she gets meter…once she gets meter, you want to back off the fireballs because EX SA or EX Hooligan can punish your fireballs.
I try to zone the crap out of her until she builds meter (which in turn builds a lot of meter for me, which I save for super). My goal is to get her to jump out of desperation so I can knock her senseless with standing fierce.
Once she gets meter and gets in…just turtle up. Crouch a lot, put on a good defense and RUTHLESSLY punish any unsafe spiral arrow.
You know that she is going to do her air cannon strike tick into either throw or low short…so once you see her start that nonsense, just backdash out of it or crouch tech.
Don’t just throw blocked SAs either…start a nice combo (c.jabx3 > st.fierce or BNB ex legs juggle) to teach her that she cannot use SA to pressure you.
That is going to force her to try and throw you, or to jump. Either of those you can deal with. Throws you can tech or beat with the nemo frametrap (counter hit clst.rh > hsu > whatever). Jumps are your dream because you can knock her out of the air with st.fierce and reset the entire situation.
Lastly: Your pokes rape her pokes. She has SHITTY pokes, the best probably being standing forward or standing roundhouse and your standing strong or standing fierce dominate them from the correct range.
If you do go on the offensive, make damn sure its with your poking game because you want to stay grounded…if you jump she has way too many tools (airthrow, CS fadc Ultra).
I like to try and trap her in the corner and mutilate her with safe pokes (standing strong, crouch strong) to bait a jump, then neutral jump fierce her in the air, which you can then juggle her onto EX SBK and even EX SBK > Ultra if the spacing is right.
damn thnx dude very helpful stuff… all of which i do not do which is y im free for a good cammy… tnx alot ill be coming back for boxer after i master this matchup
parabellum do u have any tips for high lvl bison match up
If it’s not too much trouble, could you elaborate a little bit on this?
the move lowers chun-lis hit box so that vipers flame kick misses as chun ducks under it
so every time a viper trys to flame kick u when its not combo c.mk and it sud miss and you are free to attack
also works with tiger knees and cross ups and alot of jumping attacks if u get ur timing correct
Heh I didn’t know that works on flame kicks, this also goes for the cross up flame kick too I assume? Cus dam that’s annoying
also works on cross up flame kick:tup:
i think:wonder:
You know, you Chun players have to save your damn section of the forums. Compared to the rest of these horrible character sections, this place is sanctified.
Dayasha, do yourself, and others around you a favor and:
1)Stop posting every other second. Actually, for a while, stop posting at all.
2)Read the main chun threads on this board from page 1. I can guarantee that we covered all the questions that you are about to bombard this board with.
3)Watch videos and ANALYZE THEM. Don’t just sit back relax and start checking your e-mail while you’re supposedly studying videos.
4)Use some damn grammar. Paragraphs, sentences, periods, commas…you know. No diss; it honestly helps communicate your ideas better. Without it things become hard to read and understand.
If you haven’t noticed Dayasha, the Chun boards are in much better shape than all the other boards in this place (if you don’t believe me, go check the Ken boards and see the stupidity that Dr. Chaos has to deal with). As of now, you’re basically starting the downfall of the Chun board, by burdening the posters with your unorganized thoughts, incessant posting, etc. If this board falls, Shoryuken’s SF4 section will only be a morbid cesspool, home to disfigured lepers talking about how good Ken’s strong fierce is in this game.
Also, you should try to understand why people don’t like you. You have a bunch of videos about you talking about how you want to get better, and if you had the right competition you would, etc. But we’ve seen no progress even after you seemed to have started playing with Empire players. It makes you look bad. For now, stay on the low and speak with your gameplay, not your words. That’s how people will learn to respect you. I went through this myself actually, coincidentally with Magman, like you. I sent him a PM talking about all this crap, and he just shrugged it off and never responded. When it came time to actually play though, I proved myself and now we’re really good friends.
^ agree, the truth is harsh sometimes
I love the chun forums and how helpful the players here are. intelligent discussions, suggestions, discoveries, shares of vids, etc etc. feels like a real “fellowship”.
stupidity and assholeness are not welcomed. lets grace the holy thigh :lovin:
Yo, I can’t even deny. Romes>Me. Yo uuuugh.
^^ speaking of videos watch this nemo vid
Someone know why he’s chosing mp ex LL for a punish? There must be a reason…
edit: nemo’s part starts at 6:00
^ i think because he wanted to hit confirm before exLL, and st.HK is not fast enough(ken could have time to recover and block it) ? so a fast st.mp -> exLL will maximize the damage with lower risk…
or maybe he just wanted to slap the guy hahah
Romes is right, I LOVE the fact that our little area isn’t a total shitfest. Holy hell the ryu subsection is a total cluster fuck, and a majority of the other subforums aren’t far behind
i posted a message like 6 hours ago… if noone wants to answer my questions ignore it… and if you dont like me dont watch and or respond to me simple as that…
the sad thing is the whole time man magnet bashed my name it was cool, i come and stick up for myself and im wrong…
this whole website is full of dumbass hypocrites and it makes you look bad not myself… i stopped talking bs with that *** to actually interact with others on here and now its stop posting do me a favor, if noones saying anything to you mind your business i will continue to ask “dumb” questions and i do analyze videos… you think i didnt get better hmph… yknow your friend man magnet started this shit…
he really shouldve kept his bitch ass mouth shut… you think i suck fine voice it, but when you are constantly saying my name talking shit now your just being a bitch… again this will be the last time i speak on this fool and will get back to sucking at the game and asking dumb ass questions… (which you dont have to answer) if anyone else objects wtf ever…
get a ps3… it only does everything lmao
so I re-watched the magman vids for strategies vs. sagat. damn i forgot a lot of those things. pretty useful stuff

There hasn’t been much footage of him from the latest NSB because Momochi is before him on the team…
and fucking no one can beat momochi lol
EDIT: Reposted the vid Raiden already did, thought I was on the last page lol. my beezy
Like neutral jumping fierce, one button press for two hits works well with the way damage scaling works in this game. It allows for EX legs to do 100%, and just looks cool.
