Reguarding B&B (cl.lk,c.lk,c.lk>>Ex.legs,Ex.legs) is there any good situation to use this becuase when i tried to implement it gets stuffed by just about everything also it uses meter. I dont use this any more am i gimping myself.
Has anyone experienced auto-flipping against cross up teleports? (Dhalism, Seth, Bison, Akuma etc). Like per say, with pulling out dash -> ultra after they wake up and reversal teleport.
Is chun li’s air throw useless? It just seems that whenever an air throw can be executed a Jump FPx2 HS or SBK combo in the same situation can do more damage. Plus it seems that everyone elses air throw has priority over hers.
I know what you mean, it seems even other Chun-Li’s air throws have priority over mine… Nah, I’m just kidding, I suck really. I find her air-throw loses to other characters air-throws except demon-flip throws and Cammy’s depending on what height you meet in the air.
I think it’s her floaty jump more than anything that makes the air-throw less useful. I heard a Vega player saying that air-throw was best used by jumping straight up, but I haven’t had that work for me, I figured it was the speed of the jump making the experience different per character, but I dunno. Could just be I’m misjudging it.
i just did a normal spinning bird kick through vipers ultra. does that always work or was it kinda lucky?
same question for blanka ball that went through my ultra.
*1. Is a close standing MK a good overhead?
I’ve read somewhere that Hazanshu gets blocked on reaction, so I’m trying not to use it to create any bad habits for myself.
- What is the proper way to piano input EX Kicks?
Right now I’ve been practicing HK-MK-LK-HK-LK+MK. I can cancel into EX Legs from several pokes, however I cannot dash into EX Legs yet. I don’t want to continue putting sweat and blood into it if it is an inferior method.*
I think it just comes down to timing. Back when I was using Guile extensively, Clx and I used to do Chun vs. Guile battles and he was always telling me that his throws were getting beat by Guile. I tend to execute the air grab as I am going airborne which seems to guarantee that your move will overtake the opponent’s attempt.
Isn’t there a thread somewhere which breaks down the tiers for who has the best throw advantage?
Chun is at a disadvantage against other air throws because of her jump height, and the hitbox for the grab is mid-stomach to top right of her character. Guile’s is centered at his midriff, and extends out. The only time I was able to beat Guile’s air throw was if I jumped after, any time Guile jumps after I do I lose. It looks like Chun’s grab wiffs above his head, while Guile’s grab connects with Chun’s feet, hence the loss.
well, you can turtle with her, cause her ultra can punish almost everything, but remember that now:
- no easy combo into ultra (most require corner, some won’t work even with it)
- no more one button chun, Fierce is good, but you will actually have to use some other poke, or maybe even jump.
- as continue to the previous point, no decent AA, so you will have to use your footies and adapt.
- ryu can turtle better
its better to use the mk-lk variations in block strings, i land it more than 50% of the time this way

[/LIST][*]How can you get to Akuma when they use fireballs n air-fireballs to keep me away? And they always teleport when I manage to get close. Any advice?
Focus them, build up ultra, punish them when they do it again.
^ That. Also, when you get a lead just sit on it. Evade/absorb fireballs as they come and make him come to you.
I find more often than not that that type of Akuma player is insecure with his close range game. Making him come to you will exploit that weakness in his playstyle.
I’m a Chun Li newbie here stuck on the third normal trial, the cancels (le sigh) and I hope it’s not just the fact that I’m using a 360 controller. I looked back a couple pages and didn’t see anything on it so here goes.
It’s the very first one, the :hk: into lightning legs. Does anybody have any tips? Is there a precise timing to it, or am I just not hitting it fast enough?
you arent hitting it fast enough. you can do a jumping hk, standing hk and then lightning legs. its easier to get the 5 inputs you need that way.
Aha! That helped very much, thank you.
Question about TV lag. When I try to time stuff like C.LP, C.LP, C.LP (rather than just mashing the button), it seems like on my TV I’m practically pressing the next button by the time I see the previous hit show up on the screen. Is this just the way it is for everyone, or does it sound like my TV has more lag than it should?
It makes it hard for me to time links. Should I really be going off what I see on the screen or should I just learn/know the timing regardless of the lag?
If you’re talking about playing online, it’s your connection. Just find players with green or yellow network bars.
Nope, talking about training mode
I believe I read somewhere that happens if your TV is upscaling the picture instead of the console doing it. Or something like that.
