Chun Li General Thread: Blue Jade

Well yeah but that works on normal hit also.

Yeah, seems like on CH the only thing Chun can get is either EX Legs or Super. If you have V Trigger, you can just cancel on CH or not and get pretty good damage off of it.

@Darklightjg1
Is that you heading to Final Round in bracket 35?
If it is rep the thigh well my friend!

@"Skatan Milla"
Bracket 45, best of luck man!!

I’m certain Ludovic and BrolyLegs will be representing Chun-Li
I wonder if Viscant and Ricki will be using Chun Li?
They have been, but you never know.
Any other Chun-Li players spotted?

Don’t think it has been mentioned yet somewhere else (I do check chun li forums pretty often), I just want to share that you can f.Hk hop through Birdie’s chains thrown at you (Lk and Mk versions). Guess his chains does not grab airborne opponent except for Hk version. Maybe there’s some kind of use for this?

Was in 4 as well, you charge is held long enough for you to do a st. normal into a down/back charge. It’s how combos like st.mp xx EX Kikoken are possible.

Chun seems like a FilipinoMan character, as much as I dislike the guy for how he acts up on stages he would probably have a good Chun-Li in SFV.

A couple days ago, someone uploaded Sako doing iall with mk mk+mp. I think it can be applied to mk sbk combo to make it more consistent.

The MK input of MK SBK won’t matter. The difficulty is having enough charge. You have to press up before or on the same frame as the MK. If you don’t have enough charge when you first press MK you will not have been able to build more charge by the second MK input because you can’t have been holding down back during that time.

Ok I’m so confused, twice now I successfully hit with EX Legs but then the other person just mashes out their super after getting hit and punishes me. Am I stupid and touched a button by accident after the EX legs or it’s actually punishable on hit against certain supers? (It happened against a Cammy and a Karin).

What? No, it’s not punishable because on hit it causes knockdown. Lol

Ah I’m just bad at hitting up before MK then because it helped me. Same with MK to LK so I get some version of sbk out.

Went 1-2 in my pools at Final Round. Was in pool 50. Gotta work on my spacing and learning how to apply effective pressure. Was my first major, so there’s only room for more improvement

GO-1 def a Chun to watch out for in future events.

Best Chun Li I’ve seen

GO1 was pretty solid. Still wasn’t Alioune level (I don’t think anyone is) but his poverty anime game execution was showing. He pretty much didn’t drop an IALL from what I saw. He stuck to LK SBK bnbs instead of MK, but I respect that since it’s the safe route and MK only does 18 more damage.

He just needs to improve his neutral game a bit and rely less on IALL vs people who know how to AA it (like Nando’s Mika did) and he should be good to go.

Go-1 is basilisk_time from what I understand, btw

Guys what the hell did I do?

Alioune and nuki feel like the best chuns to me right now.

Go-1 made a good name for himself though.

MOV is also up there. Imo MOV and Alioune are the best Chun’s atm.

I don’t know if most players already know it but I just realized that Chun-Li’s bnb cannot punish Nash’s jumping sobat (f+MK)
