Chun Li General Thread: Blue Jade

what are those setups?

i am having a really difficult time with the cr.lp st.mp cr.mk SBK bnb hit confirm guys :frowning:

Really don’t know what to do against mika. Fireballs work ok. But that’s about it. Charged HK goes over chuns pokes and her fireballs as well. And mika just put pokes Chun up close.

f. MP poking and you can neutral jump the charged HK into j. HK. More so you fuck up one anti-air and you can be dead. Also her random sweep hitting you is bad times if it is counter-hit. Her sweep seems to beat all your pokes so you just have to make sure to block it.

Any tips for instant air legs?

Tiger knee motion qcf+uf + kick. If you’re an MvC2 Cable player, you should be good :3

Lol I’m getting a bunch of walk forwards kikoken with the buffer in this game. Like if I do cr.lp, walk forward (threaten throw/another cr.lp) the kikoken comes out.

do cr.mk on reaction to her hk

I take the first 10 seconds to see if they are either jump happy or st.hk happy. If they use st.hk a lot, I just wait til I see Chun go into proximity guard and just blow it up with b.hp.

This guys is amazing, been checking his videos a while now.

I wonder how the hell he does that footstomp so low and cancel on air legs so damn fast.

I have no problems at all doing instant air legs, with TK or just jumping and doing it, but i cannot do that stomp-legs cancel like him…

I’ve found that piano-ing st.MP with down helps give you the most time for the charge and slightly delaying the SBK cancel after the cr. MK. I’ve also been using LK SBK instead of MK SBK as the timing is way more consistent for me and the damage trade off isn’t huge (something like 10 damage) iirc.

Also going for the lk sbk ender. It’s so much easier.

I chip killed someone with a super for the first time and I’m wondering if her super isn’t very good for that since it doesn’t do damage in a chunk like others. It took half the animation to deal the last 5% health and I think the opponent could have just v-reversal’d.

Yeah her super isn’t a good chip kill super. Doesn’t bother me. Long as I have a health lead I’ll just keep pressing s.MP, s.HP or b+HP to force a trade and win. Heavy normals will be pretty big to use during magic pixel scenarios because of the priority system on trades.

I don’t have full meter very often with Chun any way.

^Yep, I’m still stuck in SF4 in that regard, gots to have that EX for the EX SBK get-off-me.

Why is LK SBK easier? Does it take less time to charge?

If I’m correct, LK SBK has a faster startup so the timing isn’t as strict as linking with MK SBK.

Not a Chun Li player but asking for advice here. How best to deal with Chun Li in her V-Trigger in close to midrange? From an outside perspective it looks like she can convert off anything and is plus for days, I’m not sure if she just becomes the best character in the game in V-Trigger or there’s something I need to look for or counter. Only have so much V Reversal!

cammy vs chun seems insanely hard. Other than she, Vega gives me the most problems

Is there a general consensus on how Chun does versus grapplers or are people still in disagreement?

She is exactly the same in V-Trigger, just approach as you normally would.
