Chun-Li Combos and Glitches

awesome, you just taught me something that i didnt know!

-dime

I tried it on Vega and Sagat crouching and it doesn’t work outside of the corner. In the corner it’ll work on crouching opponents I guess because it doesn’t push back as much and the first hit of SBK forces the opponent to stand if you link the cr. HP deep enough.

I was playing a friend of mine last night and he said “nice reset” to me, but I did it by accident. What are some of Chun’s resets?

that could explain some things…though I believe it’s not happening for this specific case since they’re not flying out of the corner and rather still flying into it (I could be wrong…). You have to be spaced further out for them to stay in the corner on a EX sbk…unless even that range can still be too close while still keeping them in the corner?

j.hk>c.lp>c.lp>c.lk>ex legs>ex sbk>ultra works
j.hk>c.mk>m.legs>ex legs>ex sbk>ultra works (this one happens when I goof on my m.k mashing before landing from j.hk)

those should have relatively the same spacing as the one I’m having trouble connecting with.

EDIT: Thanks Bahn. clearly my mashing needs to be faster then! I was thinking it was after the first hit just like doing sbk…but it just wasn’t happening. I even tried doing the piano for the multi-kick input. just not trying hard enough.

Vyktoria: You have to either do a REALLY quick piano, or just slide your finger from hp>hk>mk>lk>mk>hk to get hk legs, and then mash mk a few times to get the mk legs.

Easiest way to sweep after LL combo on heavy characters is to use cl.roundhouse xx short LL xx forward LL, sweep. Makes it extra free.

Still finding some for other characters, like Sim/Guile/Chun.

Against Ryu/Ken I just do cl.roundhouse xx short LL, st.fierce. The sweep combos on them are pretty risky.

edit: vs Sim/Guile/Chun cl.roundhouse xx roundhouse LL xx forward LL is fairly easy, consistent, and involves little risk in the match up. So that’s gonna be my main one for them. vs Heavy characters I’ll use the short LL into forward LL for the first knock down, and then go for the roundhouse LL into forward LL when their stun is built up. I want the guaranteed knockdown first more.

you guys see Chun’s infinite? O_O

Checking to see who else it works on as we speak.

Current list:

Works on:
Dhalsim
Vega
Blanka
Akuma! (Hard to space though)
Guile (Difficult Spacing)
Poor Dan
Balrog (Setup with cr. lp x3 xx SBK)

Not on:
Sagat
Honda
Abel
Rufus
Cammy
Gouken
Fei Long
Ryu
Ken
Zangief
Seth
Bison
Viper
Fuerte
Sakura
Rose
Gen
Chun (almost forgot)

Will be updating.

I don’t understand how to do it. I can get a cr. LP > SBK > cr.LP but i cant get the 2ns cr.LP to combo when i do a SBK right after it.

So you are trying to do c.jab > c.jab > sbk?

Its possible you are doing the jabs too quickly together, which will prevent you from linking the second c.jab into sbk.

I didn’t even really know that you could link c.jab into sbk…I usually only link into sbk off crouch fierce. I hate the 50/50 that chun is left with after the sbk…so I try to avoid it as often as possible (especially against dp or command grab characters).

Oh sorry i explained like shit haha

cr.lp > SBK >cr.lp i can do but

cr.lp > SBK >cr.lp >SBK the 2nd cr.lp doesnt combo

so that seemed weird

Yeah that makes no sense to me.

If you were hitting cr.lp > SBK > cr.lp but the last SBK was whiffing that would make sense…but I don’t see how you can hit:

cr.lp > SBK > cr.lp

But if you try to do:

cr.lp > SBK > cr.lp > SBK its the c.lp that whiffs.

So this is a legit loop???

Yes,i was able to do a 9 hit (it’s 3 set’s) combo with that loop till now on Sim

Wow, I’ll have to try that.

What strength SBK you using?

If its medium sbk, you could do:

c.jab > m.sbk > c.jab > m.sbk > super

That would be fairly gdlk, although scaling may make it impractical.

I’m using c.jab > l.sbk same as it was in that loop vid.

Thanks for the list Darklightjg1, hopefully you find a way to get it working on Balrog. I don’t have time to mess around with it right now, but from the looks of it this may be sometimes practical to knock off about 1/4 damage if it isn’t too difficult to execute.

It’s weird to space on everyone it works on but once you get it started you can repeat it at pretty much the same pace on each char. Dhalsim is still the easiest to do it on. I think it’ll be a good way to build meter while pushing them toward the corner as well since the damage isn’t very high per rep.

A few I think I’ll need to retest it on is:

Ryu, Ken, Sakura, Rose and Abel. I got some weird effects on them but I haven’t gotten any repeated reps yet.

It does work on Balrog.

The setup(s) for him:

(Point Blank) cr. lp x3 xx SBK, [cr. lp xx SBK] repeat brackets

OR

J. FP x2, cr. lp x3 xx SBK, [cr. lp xx SBK] repeat brackets

sweet.

someone may go up in the tier lists… if this works on ryu or sag -rufus

I doubt it, each rep does around 40 damage and it’s a 1f link, while it’s good for building meter, it also builds their meter a lot.
Failing it can easily result in srk x fadc, ultra or any other invul move and the damage would be even again.
This isn’t something I’d concider match consistent, maybe for fun once in a while.

It’s not practical at all. Abel has an infinite as well but you don’t see Abel moving anywhere.
