Chun-Li Combos and Glitches

Hey guys, I’ve found a way to make one of Nemo’s option selects super consistent and cheap :smokin: with 15 minutes of training mode.

Anyways, here it is…

It’s of his cr.short and cr.roundhouse back dash punish options select. He says he presses LK+MK+HK at the same time. But I do it this way, and it works easier.

cr.LK, kara cr.HK~MK~LK during first cr.LK, then confirm a LK+MK x 2 for EX legs after a cr.LK to make a fast EX legs.

You can do it after the first, second, or third one. The reason I even gave this one a second thought on the method, is because I was trying to cr.LK into EX legs off of the last one. Usually, I do it from hasan-shu, so I have more time. But just working with shorts, it wasn’t as consistent for me. So it led me to this, and now I’m hitting it way more consistently.

:lovin: I see why Nemo’s oki is his strong point now, his guessing is 2/3 instead of 1/3 before we knew what he was doing. Maybe, not so random…after all. :wow:

Plinking Low Short xx EX Legs after overhead HK Hasanshu:

:lk:
:lk::lp: (plink)
:mk:
:mk::lk: (plink)
:mk::lk:

Plink your first lk with lp, then plink mk and lk, then repeat mk and lk button presses for ex legs.

The reason I plink mk+lk is because with piano, I would usually end up getting another low short (probably too slow after the weird lk+lp plink) when I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t want that in a match.

Plinking EX legs after HK Hasanshu:

:hk:
:mk:
:lk:
:mk::lk:
:mk::lk:
:hk::mk::lk: (plink)

Piano from hk~mk~lk, tap mk+lk to get your fingers set, then plink from mk+lk to hk. Should make that one frame link possible when you connect too far for cr. lk to reach.

Is there a link that someone could give me or an explanation of how to plink? Obv it has to do with links but im rly confused about it. be appreciated =)

Check the SF IV forums. I’ll link you to it directly but I’m saying it because theres a lot of good information there aside from this.

Plink!

Nice magneto but perhaps nemo thought about the same thing you describe but didn’t go in “expert explanation” on his blog. So he prefer said HK+MK+LK to simplify ^^.

And yes, those top players are definitively not random at all.

Daigo with Ryu has huge option select too. And i don’t even think about Gouki, the master of option select ^^

Samma thanks, i use this combo a lot but i never try plink to do it, i just smash boutons xD

But i don’t understand, you first example is cr lk x 2 into Ex LL or just one cr lk ?

If it’s one cr lk, why you plink lp+lk and after lk+mp ?

When i look your input, i don’t see LP

Lp is there; it’s the second input with lk.

It’s only one low short into ex legs because. It might just be because of my personal playstyle, but my hk hasanshu is usually spaced pretty far away so that if I tried two low shorts, the second one would very likely miss. So I practice it with one low short.

Oups sorry, i think i need to sleep xD
Yes one low short is good. Do you confirm the hit of the low forward to follow the Ex LL ?

guys i can’t do j.fp (x2) -> ultra… help?
sometimes it comes out too late and sometime i get kik + super

Keep working at it, sounds like you’re mashing forward and punch to get kikoken and cancel into super. Jump TC while charging back, once you see second punch connect initiate ultra command.

Now I need help. lol. I’ve got the idea down behind cr.fierce > rh.legs > mash mk > cr. rh. BUT I’ve only been able to do it one damn time. I can do 1 frame links but this feels like 1/2 frames man. I’m starting to get the cr.fierce to rh.legs down almost 100% at like 65-75%. Just can’t get that damn cr.rh to save my life. Help a brotha out if anyone has tips.

Anyone have any tips for the cr.fp>rh.legs>mk.legs>cr.rh combo on a pad? I won’t be getting a stick until my Tekken 6(I know, I know) bundle arrives. Honestly, the main reason I ordered the bundle was the stick, though I’m sure I will play the hell out of Tekken as well. I love me some King Combo Throws!

I have yet to get the combo to come out, no matter how fast I mash.

Does the s.lp > s.hp link only work when s.lp is at a distance? Or is my timing just way off?

only if its a far “slap” if its an “elbow” it wont work.

I use pad and i cant do cr.fp into legs either. But ive done the rh ll > mashed mk ll > sweep after a jump in whiffed rh. That setup sucks though so i dont bother with the combo at all.

honestly… idont bother with that combo either… because substituting the cr.fp for st.hk brings down the stun for it considerably…not worth it imho unless you can pull of the 2 x cr.fp iterration… and i cant… at all, without gloves.

so umm… you could actually combo a light jab to a non ex legs…
i was able to do it just once right now online…
could someone confirm this? i know it’s possible…

are you sure the guy wasn’t just mashing and trying to hit you after being jabbed?

No, you should be able to do it, in theory… I was trying to get jab xx hk legs. It’s too difficult and I can’t figure out a way to make it easier.

not possible unless its lk legs (4 frame startup)

jab to mk legs or hk legs requires a counterhit (both are 7 frames and jab is only plus 6 on regular hit)

-dime

Shouldn’t jab be cancellable into HK legs if you do a slide input or something for the legs (super quick inputs) making it a possible combo?

Speaking of which… what’s the practicality of this combo we are currently discussing? :wonder:

actually yeah… i’m tripping… its late…

anywho viability = not much

its shit damage/stun and leaves chun no chance for any real mixups on block besides 50/50 between whether she will attck from disadvantage or block…

i need some sleep…
