Sagat is in fact a pretty complicated fellow, the thing in vanilla was that he could score stupid damage of easy setups. He also had enough health to let him just tank until his opponent made a mistake at which point uppercut to destruction sealed the deal.
With these things taken away you have to play the rest of his game which is not so simple.
That’s exactly what I was trying to say, just more concise lol. The fact that he could land big damage off dumb setups is why we saw so many Sagat players, but that kind of thing wasn’t (necessarily) why he was top tier.
The difference is, Chun doesn’t have any of those dumb setups, so I doubt we’ll see a big increase in Chun players over the long-term.

I would say Rufus is the best in this game because he has the best pressure game, he can stop fire balls full-screen or opt to do a highly damaging combo damage set-up, which is more than Balrog IIRC. And he just has amazing damage output.
But like many of the rush down non-fireball characters, he just has shit to deal with against Zangief .-.

Chun is probably not the real top in Super, but I think she’s a more solid character than Vega.
Yeah Rog definitely does not have the best rushdown in the game, and i know very few rog players who use Rog because of his ability to rush down. The best rushdown probably has to go to cammy or dudley or someone…not rog.
OK then, Chun zoning Vega with fireball is a joke at best. Vega has the tools to brush that aside, she isnt guile, and doesnt have the normals to keep him at bay when on defense, she does have the tools to poke and zone offensevly and then she keeps vega at bay. dont compare honda to vega walk speed alone makes Vega less woried about mediocre fireball games.

Vega C.mp is a threat, and I keep it in mind while facing a good Vega player.
Plus, if this move connect and the player have charge, I think he can cancel it.
This, his focus and well spaced slide are the only thing I’m worried about when I play footsie with Vega.
If I know the player tend to poke a lot, Focus, stay oustide range, c.mp or even Hazanchu can kill Vega poke. Sometime, I even catch poke with her normal grab…
If the Vega player try to jump in on me, I can AA him easily. Chun does not have ONE dedicated AA like C.hp Guile, but I’m not a pro and I can AA people easily with her. So I figure that very good player are impossible to jump in on, df lk alone is a threat.
When Chun is on defend, I don’t really know what a Vega player can do to approche her… Random wall jump claw barcelona blablabla thing ? Too risky, everyone know how to counter it. you can tend to mind your opponent with it, but that’s a random strategy where gamble is not in your favor.
That hardly depend on the player level, or type, but I truly think Chun can defend well against vega. She can Keep Rog out of her range, so she can with Vega poor offense.
c.hp really isn’t a dedicated AA for Guile. His AA is just as situational as Chun’s.
I really dont think this is accurate. I didnt post it to like complain about tier lists and all that like the first few comments were being gay about lol. I just wanted to show everyone the tier list incase they havent seen it and see what there thoughts are.
And Balrog isnt the best in the game. He has no Cross Up and no overhead. So what can he really do on your wake up?. Grab, Jab or Safe Jump, but who can’t do that. When he is on offense he is usually very predictable, but he is solid with footsies and defence.
And best ultra in the game? Hell no lmao.
you shouldnt be afraid of cr.mp, its an ok move at best. In no way or shape is it a threat. you should be more afraid of a vega that moves around. thats the mark of a decent vega. Vega doesnt need charge to land 300 damage combo’s. he can land them anywhere on screen. you should be more afraid of cr.mk. if you are afraid of only focus, cr.mp, and slide. stop playing shitty vega’s. its obvious you havent played any good ones.
as for AA its a 50/50. depending on what move i decide to do determines wheter or not i win the encounter. since you dont have an all purpose AA you cant AA me all the time. idk why you even forgot walk. walk foward is what a good player is going to do. its my best tool. you dont have an answer to that other than sweep, and even then thats not a problem. why would i FBA. a decent vega doesnt use that move outside combo’s or set ups. and so what if you can keep rog out. his reach isnt like Vega’s, and HE CANT PUNISH YOU WITH 300 DAMAGE FOR STICKING A LIMB OUT. VEGA CAN ROG CANT. one more thing Vega’s offense is a lot more fucking scary than rog’s. especially in the corner. Vega can mind fuck you in the corner like no other.
I have never felt mindfucked by a Vega, and I have played against some of the best Vegas in SoCal.
Tatsu beats me with his Vega, but it’s never as dominant as you make it sound.

We are arguing about a tier list - which is by no means a definitive, end-all tier list for the game as tiers change all the time, and to make matters worse people are trying to justify their opinion regarding the tier list by talking about ONE PARTICULAR MATCHUP.
Look, bottom line is, people have believed Chun vs. Vega to be a 6-4 in Chun’s favor since Vanilla. If you don’t agree, you don’t agree. If you feel like your Vega wrecks Chun, great.
The discussion used to be about whether or not Chun deserved to be at the top of the Tier List, and why or why not; it has devolved into some ridiculous back-and-forth bantering about who should be.
Okay, pedoviejo. Chun vs. Vega is 0-10 in Vega’s favor. Even if you subtract the 6 from Chun’s Matchup Total, it still leaves her at 186 which would put her just below Balrog, still in A Tier.

I agree. If she had that she would be undisputed god-tier. She has not many options to keep her from being crossed up, continuously. So I think she is top, but her being the best concerns me.
