If you have any love at all for animation as a medium then yes you should definitely watch it. Otherwise no, you should read it instead.
Eh…I don’t have any particular love for it, just enjoy a pretty good film/show, regardless of medium. I’m not really big on anime/manga either though so lol.
akira was leaps and bounds ahead of the anime industry and american animation industry. it set the standard for years to come. i like the story but i guess others didnt but no one can deny the animation.
I’ve always considered The Secret of Nimh as the standard bearer based on overall product, but I can see akira too. I’m also a Don Bluth fanboy so that probably might factor in.
