Fridays are generally the best day to go.
There’s a 97/98/99 machine, a machine with 2K1 that has shitty sticks and a machine with 2K2 that doesn’t really have good sticks. I heard Kongman Center has KoF XI and MIRA, but I don’t know where it is or if there’s comp.
I don’t think 2K1 is there anymore(thank god), while 2K2 is. And I know where Kong Mahn center is. Just walk east on Canal towards the bridge, then make a left and go north on the Bowery. It’s about two blocks from there, and is on the right side of the street, and has a purple overhang. It’s hard to miss.
I heard XI never gets fixed at Kongman, so don’t be surprised if the stick/buttons are messed up.
Well actually, I gotta’ ask how is the competition for the less popular games? I can imagine the players on some of the more popular machines (MvC2/3S/CvS2) are damn good but I figure that even though the other games aren’t as popular, there is still great players on them.
You may wanna define what games you’re talking about, instead of having us guess.

From the times I been there I saw some kids playing Accent Core.
Everyone mostly plays Marvel, 3S, and DDR.
Well if I’m going to get specific, I’m pretty much curious around KoF98 and SF2 turbo.
The times I went I usually see someone playing by himself SF2 turbo, not too popular, but then again I come early and rarely stay late.
There’s usually a couple of people playing 98. I’d say they’re decent, but I’m not a good judge of that game (since I don’t play it :p) :o
A saw a couple times where there were 2-4 people. No offense to them but they sucked.
Anyways, practice makes perfect, so keep practicing.

kof 98 SOMETIMES has good comp. most of the time it doesn’t. it’s sorta like gg if you think about it. most of the time kids are just trying it out because it’s popular, but there’s that RIGHT TIME when the comp comes in.

I’ve been meaning to ask… I’ve watched many videos on youtube of all sorts of matches in all sorts of games and when you read the comments, it seems like a healthy group of people in the fighting scene are serious assholes. Considering that I’m headed to CTF to get my ass ultimately kicked all over the place I really would like to know how exactly is the reception of people there? In particular, the crowd on CvS2 and 3S?
