How exactly would YOU handle it? How exactly would you run things? The key word is WOULD since you aren’t taking the time nor the money to run this. Please keep your opinion to yourself until you want to fork out some cash to run a server. And ask yourself something…If you were to be paying $200+/mo. to run a server…would you want to run it however you felt?
Otherwise, let us do the work for you and keep this server up and running.
I was never present for the friction with WSOP, and whomever which person that has a problem with him, so I will only speak for myself towards this. Personaly, WSOP has not acted like a child towards me, ever since i started a couple months back. Sure he could be miserable at times…but who isn’t these days. And I know for a fact that WSOP does not ban every single person that so happens to beat him for the day, because he has not banned me yet.
Did you log that conversation to prove that idiots do exist on GW (we all know this)? It’s almost like you continued the conversation with him hoping that the insults would get worse in order to prove a point. I agree that comments like that are intolerable, but surely you knew nothing good would come out of prolonging such a conversation. I mean it really is a one sided argument. You were logging him and he didn’t know, we’ll never know what would have been said or done if no logging was taking place because this was pretty much simulated. I do help the community. I attempted a login fix for GW, which seems to be working better, and I also attempted my own version of a client for people to use. People just don’t like me because of the bot I made. They are used to the old times where they can do whatever they want, whenever they want.

I actually don’t exactly know how to log a conversation, so I copy/pasted it to notepad. I didn’t make the conversation up. There was a shitload more to it than that. I silenced him and he created a SFA3 game. I decided to go in and see what he had to say, if he was going to apologize for his actions beforehand. This is what the result was (that conversation). I am normally super duper patient with people but sometimes people just don’t need to be conducting business in NoX’s server when their intent is to start a bunch of shit. Or just to agitate people. Just go on the server, have fun playing whatever your heart desires and that’s that. No need to bash people you would never bash IRL. I mean wtf…do people think that hiding behind a screen then posting under random names is going to stop the banning? Stop the silencing? LOL…Its those same people who started banning, kicking, silencing in the first place. Someone had to set the example…and everyone else just followed. I just babysit and do what I have to do.

You can not DDoS my server it is impenetrable… my server is on lock down try, try, and try again you wont. Will not. Ever. Break it… I’m not paying a $12.00 server here like pown… Sorry kids its just not possible. Try to DDoS my server and all the server does is block you and I mean permanently. I don’t have to do a thing cause I pay for what I get. This server is not a single patty cheeseburger. Its a Super Sized Tripple Whopper Value meal with a side order of a Bucket O Fries…
It’s not impenetrable. If it’s possible to DOS attack highly classified government sites, why would your server have higher protection? It is impossible to prevent all DOS attacks.
It is but they should not hurt much. Those webservers an emulinker are different. Of the possibilities, in worst case, depending on server’s upload speed, it may make some user’s running games chop a little but things should become stable soon enough.

And I refuse to answer your question about how I would run things because its a purely hypothetical situation. I WOULNDN’T shell out 200 a month just so a bunch of strangers can play games…and I can’t for the life of me figure out what sort of person would want to.
But you play on there, don’t you? You downloaded MAME 32 or whatever other emulator you may/may not have JUST SO YOU COULD PLAY THE ARCADE GAMES WITHOUT HAVING TO PAY FOR THEM ANNNNNNND YOU WANTED THE OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY THEM AGAINST PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD ONLINE, RIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT?
SO… when you figure out that the people that ACTUALLY do provide thise service so people like me and you can play the arcade games against people from all over the world…and they have to pay for the equipment that we need to be able to provide a decent quality speed so the games are at least playable…then maybe you will understand the principle.
As far as your opinion is concerned. This is a public forum. The server is a privately owned and operated room. Therefore the server can be run however the owner sees fit. If you don’t like it, go find another server in which there are always at least 50 people on there at any given time to play. Go find something better. Enough said about this topic and I’m out.
