Easier? Absolutely not 
That’s only because nobody else has done this mod, a prototype is always hard to manufacture. Modding TE with this is easy as hell because it’s already laid out for you, but I have to reverse engineer this shit so that it’ll fit into my pad without looking like total shit. I could technically run wires to a small project box attached to the pad, but where’s the fun in that?
Less expensive? Totally, the cost for a cthulu board is 20, IMP is 10, and I have everything needed to do the mod. At the rate this one is going technically you could probably just get the IC + parts, not the PCB from toodles…which decreases the expense immensely. If all goes well you could theoretically do this mod for around 20 bucks and not have to deal with wireless bullshit, or have to tote 2 pads with you, hoping your batteries/wireless don’t run out in the middle of a match.
Plus to me it’s just fun, I enjoy doing things like this.
I have both a 360 and PS3 FP, however I HATE my ps3 FP because of the wireless syncing issues.
If I can get this to work the next mod is turning the PS3 FP into a wired controller so I can bypass the wireless issues Madcatz is having because they can’t engineer anything worth the PCB it’s made on.

that’s pretty ghey they didn’t just make both fightpads wired. I thought they were until you mentioned it. just the 360 is a wired pad then? weak.
Seems like I miss out on all the gatherings. I’m looking forward to that MODCHIPMAN shindig, though. I won’t mess this one up (hopefully).
Yeah, that was the reason I couldn’t really play SF4 on PS3 when people were over, mine was on the fritz, the thing would sync…but the turbo button would be stuck; they have yet to send me the replacement wireless receiver to “fix” the problem.
My next step was to desolder the turbo button to see if that fixed the issue, I may still do that as an experiment… we’ll see.
Gotta call them today about that one.

I’ll get proficient on both at some point so that I’m never stuck, but for now I just have way too much fun when I beat people using a pad, the hate fuels my game…it’s like my own personal can of Monster.
Now that I know I can just make my own stick with a cthulu board with immense ease, I’ll probably throw a stick together at some point just so i can putz around with it though. Custom balltop and whatnot, should be pretty tits.

EDIT: also with 3 months time til frosty faustings, i am up for playing 3rd strike, or GG any time with people. if anyone wants to get into it, i m willing to sit down and go over the basics and mindgames. i remember there were some players ive never seen before like 3-4 people who live pretty close to me who generally had their basics down for the game, but i didn’t get the opportunity to get their info and see if they wanted to meet up for casuals.
i also would like to learn more about 3s and Marvel if there are people who would give me a hand. i m free after 6 or 7, pretty much all the time (except i will be gone this weekend), and don’t mind getting magneto infinited, 1 frame supered, stomped by giant robots, low forward into supered, or have everything i do parried as long as they are willing to tell me why it happened, and what i should be doing better. my short term goal for MvC2 is to just look like i know how to play (really i dont).
i am also up for KOF12 and SF4 to some extent, but to be perfectly honest, though this is no secret, i do enjoy good GG competition over any of the games out now. not really feeling BB that much, but it is fun on occasion, just not motivating me. With SF4, i kind of know what direction to take the game in to get better, but i feel like there is a big chunk of something that is missing and i’d like to figure that out.
also this is probably late, but i m relatively new to having my xbox360, but i found they had Ikaruga on xbl. so if anyone is into that and knows what they are doing, all i really want to accomplish is to get like an A (or an S grade might make me tear in joy), on any of the levels.

i ll do that, but i only sort of kno what i m doing with cable, and i just fly around with sentinel doing rocket punches, lasers and so on. i cant use magneto at all, i might switch out for team scrub and try to figure out whats going on with captain commando. so ultimately u might just stomp me to death and it will be over before i know what happened. it might also just be training mode for you. i ll put on my mic so you can hear all the “OH SHIT! GAA~H! NO NOT IN THE — ! WHY??? IT HURTS! OH GEEZ! PLEASE DON-! WHAT DID I EVER DO TO YOU???”
it seems like a lot of it is more of spacing than it is mixups, i dont know what i m talking about so correct me if i m wrong. some of the mixups get ridiculous, and its like if u get the offensive advantage and get a chance to pressure/mixup people, they just get owned.
i also still have no mobility in this game, cuz i keep forgetting that to dash quickly, u press down PP and quarter circle back PP to dash back instead of double tapping forward or back (thanks marc for telling me that, otherwise i’d probably the slowest marvel player on the planet).
anyone got extra 360 power supply?
