You could get the basics down… but there were some big system overhauls between #Reload and Slash… and even more in Accent Core. Plus, most of the characters play quite differently between the versions.
So you should play Accent Core if you want to learn the game now.
not entirely true, it’s more than 2 wires to the stick’s pcb, here’s a reference shot from bomberman’s guide. His SE stick turned out great.
He piggybacked all of the connections from the SE’s PCB. Here’s the exact pinout for a TE stick. He also utilized the IMP board so that he didn’t have to use DPDT switch (although personally I kinda like the switch, the board allows for another element that can go bad).
To put it short, if you’re uncomfortable soldering smaller things, or in general don’t want to chance fucking up your 150$ stick, let modchipman do it. The unassembled Cthulu board is 20 bucks, and the imp board is 10…that alone is already half the cost of what he’s charging (supposing he’s using the imp board, you should ask him).
Personally I’m ordering a cthulu board to see if i can dual mod my 360 FP so I can stop dealing with the ps3 sync issues, and all around shittyness.
You can do it like bomberman, but you can also get away with only soldering the 5v and ground lines to the 360 PCB. Then you solder the button leads to the terminal strip and u,d,l,r, to the microswitches on the joystick. This is how I did mine.
I had little to no prior experience with soldering and my TE came out great. I wouldnt do that soldering directly to the stick stuff you guys were talking about. Just follow bombermans pictures. It worked great for me. Make sure you get a Imp board too because switches = lame. Being able to use that worthless LS DP RS switch is a great feature.
If anyone has questions about the dual mod ask me here or send me a PM. It’s all fresh in my mind
Ahhh, I see. you piggybacked the connection on the buttons instead (I assume the quick disconnects in case you want to switch the components later on).
good call, definitely less chance to have cold solder joints.
Apparently the way bomberman did it is only one way to do it. the second pic I posted has the RS switch position connected to the imp’s guide button instead of the 360’s guide button connected to both the ps3 home button as well as the IMP’s guide button, I think that’s how I’ll do it if I can fit an IMP board into the fightpad
god it’s going to be a tight fit.
BRB, measuring the inside clearance of the fightpad
gg’s at d’s, sorry had to peace out early…bit tired from going to see early show of district 9.
that and it was a fucking sauna in there with all of you motherfuckers.
least the food was good
thx again for hosting, D! get that shit poppin with modchipman hopefully soon!
the reason why people wanna try GGG is because BB killed off the AC scene, all the GG scrubs went off to BB, sad but true, so Destin wanted to spark some interest back in the GG community and suggested GGG, we’ll see what happens…
ex characters? thats dumb…some of them are really stupid (not all, some are noticeably weaker) but they were never really tested out for balance, so putting them in a tourney scene wouldnt make much sense
that post is wrong, check out stunedge’s post from dustloop
ggs the other night to everyone i played. thanks for the tips and lessons on patience. now i just gotta work on that stuff. just hit me next time there is going to be a gathering.
