Chicago: More Popular Than Porn ... The Legend Continues

Real talk? Just making sure.

And you, god dammit would you stop spamming messiah kicks? Jesus, I’ve never seen so many messiah kicks spammed in under 20 seconds into the match. Like, once you fall under pressure, you have no idea what to do but messiah kicks, read like a fucking childrens book all the time. REAL TALK.

we do have other arcades that arent dave and busters or gameworks in the chicagoland area.

they just dont have the newest games. you can go to nickel city whenever and play older games but if you want to get down with the new games you gotta support the mainstream places.

heres the problem that i have with this. when i am getting advice, there is absolutely no way i can instantly work it into my matches. when someone is shouting ochio every time i missed an opportunity to do one as im playing at gw, it does not help. i am attempting to play safe and use the things i know work. i do not want to whiff my command grab and allow a free combo for the other player.

trust me i do take peoples advice and go into training mode and try to think of ways to work it into my game but sometimes things take a little more time because not everyone can instantly incorporate something into their matches when someone is shouting it or the match right after they get advice.

and now i probably sound like a huge scrub.

Fuck that don’t get down on yourself.

When I play with Jerry against his Sagat he repeats shit over and over and I still do the opposite. It takes a little bit to get the advice embedded into your memory/muscle memory. Now, I can actually get a round on him with my Rufus.

I don’t know if Spriggan was talking to you or not but don’t worry about it. Keep listening and work your junk out, broseph. :stuck_out_tongue:

I feel the same way. I’m definitely mindful of advice, it’s just not possible incorporating it immediately. No scrubbiness there.

My b I meant the city. I hear “Chicagoland area” too much and it slipped out.

i am pretty much exclusively talking about doing this at gw because it costs money to play there.

and i know he wasnt talking to me specifically but it really can get annoying when someone is shouting for you to do some move that could potentially make you lose the match and a dollar if you do it incorrectly. and a lot of the times it feels like they wanted you to do it instantly to show you how wonderful some combo or move is.

im sure others feel the same way here i just wanted to state my stance on it since hes obviously a much better player who probably can think quick enough to add something new to his game on the fly.

roman, when you are under pressure, you can only do real dumb combos like jab jab jab srk
and i told you to master the demon throw but you haven’t

i like leek’s buppa messiah kick, i know its coming and i can spd.

i was watching psn replay on sf4 and damn, not many good players.
is it worth buying 360? pay to play on xbl? is it that much better?

It’s a different atmosphere at GW opposed to someone house gathering.

I get really nervous at GW haha

Yo, passive agressive – dont be mad because you couldnt beat me with anyone other than Akuma. If you want, cutie, next time we play I will practice my viper on you. You know – the other brand new character I play instead of someone like Akuma who has been around to practice with for how many years on how many games? Im happy that you think youre cool because you are good at Street Fighter, but you should take a tip from marcus on how he treats other players. Better player than the majority, but hes cool about it and doesnt act like a cocky little bitch. See you Thursday.

Online is online, man. I’d say it’s something to avoid for serious play. At least until Capcom fixes the net code. I don’t think you’ll find the quality of 360 players any better than PS3.

Online incorporates lag tactics, even the better players are adjusted to lag, so it’s almost a different style of play in itself.

Can’t we all just get along, seriously. Yes location does play a huge factor for going to gatherings. I definitly at my place wanted whomever to show up. I know that it’s hard to want to go to the northwest burbs when you live on the south side etc. As for the supposed gameworks crew, we all just talk shit to eachother because we play each other so goddamn often. I do think sometimes it gets carried away. I am one of those people that looks foreward to gw nights because the forum of players is huge, I can test out tips I recieved the week before and get to play some of the local talent that wipes the floor with me week in and week out.

Now I wouldn’t be making the progress I am in this game without marcus, roman, aki, madbooface, Jerry, Eugene, lee, g, carl, dannkk, hell anyone I’ve played locally. I also really enjoy thursdays and want to keep them going, it’s a good time to really just chill out, have a drink, talk to eveyone and maybe play some sf.

So to repeat Rodney king, can’t we all just get along? And level up Chicago big time?

it’s worth buying 360 cause i’m on 360! i’ll try to play with anyone as long as i’m not already playin someone else. oooo xbox plays a bit faster too. ZAANNNNGRRRIEEF!!!
lately, nobody’s onnn thoughhh (major bummmer) sooo i end up playing ryu/ken/tbonne marvel…

Does that mean games at Arturo’s every Fri/Sat night?

Seriously, though, as an 09er/scrub/whatever I haven’t had much trouble getting into gatherings. Only one I’ve been turned down for was Nive’s gathering a couple weeks ago, but he had said in the thread he was only having over the first 4 or 5 people that talked to him. When it comes down to it, though, I’m not gonna be offended if someone doesn’t want me over. Outside of the 10-15 people I’ve met, you guys don’t even know me…even then, we’ve just hung out for a few hours playing games and drinking beer. I am actually seriously surprised people are as open to newcomers as they are. Folks have let me into their house knowing NOTHING about me, other than I like to play street fighter 4.

i play tron bonne in marvel also

assist 2 button

yep, you got it. Most likely every weekend. Just call in advance.

Oh I almost forgot, when eugene starts trying to talk like Arturo Sanchez, he hows me $5 a pop. So if he says free, real talk, pringles, anything of that nature, just remind him.

dont forget when he starts whining about food! “horchata” and “french toast” also score you 5 dollars!

LOL!! It’s fun!! You should all try it, mmkay?

Don’t forget SOOOMUCHDAMAGE!!! And btw, it’s “freaking french toast”

btw, I don’t use “real talk” because I don’t think it’s serves as comic relief, the others I do.
