anyway, my personal opinion on mcm tournament, bear in mind, this is my first SF4 tournament…

venue fee - shouldn’t we get some sort of wristband or badge to keep track of people? i got there at 2pm. ahFuah registered for me, but now thinking back, i was surprise to be able to freely walk in from the back door…

the place is fine for me. no issue with dust or anything. it’s a basement after all. like everyone said, need fans.

$20 for sf4. yes, DE, but I really don’t see how there is a huge difference to the$10 SE for the upcoming GW tournament. So, people, support GW. it’s the first GW afterall. otherwise, i’d say chances of us getting another SF4 cabinet will probably be slim to none if all we do is go to GW for “free play” on thursday nights, and don’t even go to the tournament there.

I’m volunteering myself to pick up anyone who’s interested to come to GW tournament but don’t have transport, at metra station nearby. metra is $5 all weekend. you can make go to movies next door, shop at woodfield, or just hang out at GW before the tournament. PM me if you need me to pick you up. We can discuss.

J-money: the fact that you didn’t link your combo to ultra, not even once, and i still lost to you, albeit to the last match and last round, tells you how scrubby my Vega is. 
and you don’t even know the matchup. haha.
Nives: you and some other guy were discussing Sagat vs Vega matchup like 2 feet behind me when i was playing my match. it’s not a big deal, i tuned you guys out, but it’d be nice for me to be able to regroup between the rounds for 5 seconds without clearly able to hear every single word. might want to lower you guys voice a little next time, k? plus, sounded like you know how to play vega now after the only time we played at gw. we need to get a few games next time.
Lee-K: yeah, c’mon. this isn’t you. play nice, be nice, and my civilization will crush yours and jacki’s!!! hahaha
Edit: Oh, forgot about it. Overall, the tournament was run very smoothly. Good job Tactics, Cracka_J and others. It also helps a lot to have loud voices like yours. Keep doing what you guys did, you’ll be alright! Thanks for organizing this.

Entering the building doesn’t mean anything if you aren’t registered to play right? Its a store so anyone can walk in, since you weren’t there, anyone who payed had to give me their receipt to confirm purchase. But anyways this wasn’t my first tournament, just was my first tournament after returning to the scene. All you new guys just don’t know how much I did for this community back in the day…but that is the past definitely…and like I said why worry so much about GW now, we will have gatherings perhaps on Thursday Nights to rival GW once we are more situated, youd just pay a fee to get in the door and be able to play casual games all night on multiple setups…how could you beat that? Anyways all the feedback was great from you guys and im glad everyone had a great time!
I think I’ll be making it out to syxx’s, gotta hash that out with the GF first though, lol. Jim, if I dunno if I’ll need to carpool it, but i’ll let you know for sure once I’m more aware of my plans.

babylunatic: my bad. usually tournaments are really noisy, so it never seems to concern me where ever i am talking, since people around me just say whatever. the noise usually drowns people out. sorry about that, i ll be more careful next time. i dont have a ps3, but i m up for playing 1v1 whenever after 7 pm in the city. i also work in schaumburg, and would like to play people around there, but i m usually really tired after work and i just want to go home and get a beer.

Tactics may have a 09 register day (yall don’t know his '00 “Nigga D” handle), but he’s been here since the beginning running tournaments. Without him the scene would have died 3x. Same goes for old man Rashad.

Personally I just like Arcade better than anything. Don’t have to worry about TV quality, size, distance to the screen, finding something to put the stick on (i don’t play on my lap),… personal preference really. oh and also the atmosphere, properly air-conditioned “room”. I guess I’m just surprised that a lot of people said there’s no SF4 in an arcade, and now that we have one finally and people don’t really seem to care. I will say this. GW does serve somewhat of a different clientele, unlike Nickel City. so, maybe that’s really what it is.

I would wholeheartedly support GW if there were 2 or 3 setups for SF4. Playing 3 matches from 9-2 AM (right? 2 am?) is kinda pathetic. While playing in some basement isn’t ideal I love the fact that we can play games more often.
Although, as I said to one of the guys in charge (forget his name!)…MCM needs to move closer to the city Is that “for sale” sign up yet? ho ho ho

How much room was there at MCMs? The reason I ask is because I’d love to bring a 360 setup for casuals if possible. I don’t think mixing systems for the tourney is smart, but it would maybe bring some more people out (myself and a friend included). PM me with any details if more appropriate, thanks guys.
