Exarch : I’d like a candy cabinet for sure, but with our house on sale, being in debt to my dad, trying to find a place, it’s not gonna happen any time soon. It’s a long term project that once I get a cab, it’s gonna be gutted so that my laptop sits in the service/coin door and is just wired up to the screen and sticks. I had an awesome picture with specs on how to do it on my desktop at home.
In the trading outlet someone had a 2P panel from a Astro City Cabinet with a custom wood case that I’m still super interested in, just needs 2X Cthulhu boards and it’s set. So basically I could run random tournys on my laptop until I get the cab if I had that. It’d be about a million times better then using that shitty X-Arcade that was at FIO3

well its not any pretty japanese cab. it was once an atari roadblasters cabinet that some arcade painted black and slapped a xvssf marquee and an american button layout on it on it. i had to sand each button hole down to get obsf’s to fit inside and i used JLW’s because i knew they would fit perfectly.
the coin mech does work i just never use it because i set everything to freeplay.
also here is a pic of my cabinet, like i said its nothing special but i still love it.

Xombie- Candy cabs run for like $500 pretty much. That’s still a kool idea though, also using the laptop would be dope because you could have tournament maker w/ the emulator going.:tup:

I wonder how much american cabinets run for. I go to look @ alot of arcade cabinet sites and I mostly know all the prices for Japanese cabinets but not any american ones.(Like the CVS2 and a2 cabinet back @ Nickel)

this only cost me 150 for the working cab with the xvssf board. yea most of the buttons were fucked but it was cheap!

ginz: nice cab, only thing I noticed that would suck is you basically have to sit on the other person’s lap to be able to access your controls. spacing is waaaay too close.
is there any way you’d be able to just alter the top panel on a cabinet like that, or are you pretty much stuck with it?
yea i know its super close but like i said it was cheap so i snatched it up.
if by altering the top panel you mean making the control panel space larger, im sure theres some way i could make it larger but it would be somewhat sloppy. its close but its not super bad.
