Man GGA was so beast, if you didn’t show up you really missed out. We had both rooms to ourselves, the divider was opened up. They gave me a free mega man energy drink for beating Dfly one game, haha. They are planning on buying us MORE monitors so we wont have to lug ours around at all. There was plenty of room, cozy leather sofas and on top of that they even gave us 2 free pizzas on the house! They were definitely extremely nice, not much else I can say, I definitely love going to GGA now. Also the $5 deal for only being in the game rooms was very nice for the guys with light funds like myself.
Doc also mentioned that on Saturdays when the room is usually booked they tend to leave around 7:00PM usually and mentioned that when they(people who booked the room) would clear the room we could go in and setup as well. Said if we were all having a good time he had no problem staying open past 2:00AM! Ok, Ill see you guys there next week and GGs to all.
Had a great time at GGA. The room was quite large. They also got comfy couches to sit on.
Wow…that article is pretty disturbing. What’s really sad about it, is bills like that are being pushed just because the old cats can’t figure out how to make money on the internet. Cable companies are dying, too. All they need to do is make their stuff available in HD with ads. No one will watch shitty streams if they can go to the owners site and watch it in high quality. Watch, 10 years from now all we’ll have is iphone care bear internet, because people are to dumb to care.
GGA was sick. They gave us exactly what we’ve been asking for. 5 dollar cover and lots of space. Leather couches don’t hurt, either. Thanks for the pizza, Doc.

Sup chicago, I’ve invaded your city for the next week or so and wanted to know if you guys had any local arcades somewhere in the city. Im in the westsuburbs in the maywood area. I only play ssf4 or ae and wanted to know if you guys have it here to play somewhere.
GGA sounds like they’re really trying to help us out, wish I wasn’t so damn busy otherwise I’d make it out there more.

Good times at GGA. Had fun trying out AE and thanks for the tips. Look forward to chances to spar with more people. I’ll try to prepare a full set-up for future gatherings.

GGA was pretty sick, but man did I get floored. Between MVC3 and AE I lost over 80 matches lol. I know I was probably the quietist guy there, sorry for that. I’m just not used to playing people in person.
Anyway thanks to everyone that put up with playing me considering I was like combo practice for most of you. Especially Tactics, I just didn’t know what to do against that Ibuki pressure, good shit. After that trouncing I’m determined to level up, so count me in as a regular. And thanks to GGA for accommodating us so well.

I got a few matches in with Juri on the other end with the guys that shared their stick and let us play. I’m sure if I’d have stayed longer I would have gotten just as badly floored.

Man sounds like everyone had a swell time at GGA. I will try to make it out there sometimes once my Weds Vball league is over. I have to say, I didn’t really like playing on some of their arcade cabinets since I felt like the sticks/buttons were harder to play on than my own stick, but now that you can use your own in the game room for only 5$, that sounds pretty excellent.
I’d be down to learn some MK.
I was always interested in it, but it turned me away because of the Kombat Pass.

I’m definitely coming next week, work was fucking retarded last night, Zumiez had there fucking “couch tour” (I work in Fox Valley mall), so pretty much a bunch of Hipsters and 13 year old wanna-bes ruined my store and I was there until 10 that night, long story short I was salty as fuck from work and didn’t want to be rude to anyone.
I’ll definitely make it out next week and drag my two friends there as they need to get stomped for a while.
Did I play you last night? I don’t know SRK names with faces/real names to much. I’m new to the scene myself but like to get to know everyone either way. I’m pretty talkative (compared to all the quiet people atleast!) in person and like to talk/ask questions all the time. In fact some people prob find it annoying that I talk when playing matches a lot =P
I wouldn’t say I’m great at mk but id be good enough to teach people new to mk the fundamentals and some tricks. I’m learning something new every time at these gatherings =D
Also going to try to get my friend(s) who are pretty new to fighting games to come out too!
