Sorry, I’m new… But what’s GGA?
Hope I’m not the only one braving the weather to go to Area XIII tonight; I want some matches dammit!

GGA is Galloping Ghost Arcade. I’ll be there Saturday for most of the day and will likely stop by there tomorrow early in the day after I drop my girlfriend off at the airport.

Hello again peeps. i just wanted to stop through and leave a quick reminder about MWC and SBO Qualifiers this weekend. It is being held in TN for the first time this year and will be run by tourney vet Jason Wilson. Tourney info:

Well good news is i just ordered my stick and officially have chosen just 2 mains with geif on the side ( gonna see if the stick makes throws happen more often)

For XIII is anyone able to swing by the itasca station if I come in by train? Not for this week, but I’d like to try to make it out there for once, maybe for the next casuals or tourny.
car pool from elgin is also a possibility if someone already has that going on.
This Saturday thing intruiges me… My arcade stick arrives tomorrow… do I bring it to GGA? What does one bring to GGA on Saturday besides themself, and when do people show up?
GGA doesn’t allow for sticks to be used on their cabinets, only if you rent out the private room. Their tournaments usually only happen on the cabinets (at least the ones I’ve been at) and are generally single elimination single match. They’re free to enter once you pay the venue fee though, which is nice.
Isn’t the private room usually open to everyone on tournament days? I know the last time I went to one of GGA’s tournaments it was open for anyone to go in and play. So PaperKoi may want to bring his stick, but then again that may have been a special occasion.
Mines supposed to be coming in within the next week or so…

Perhaps it is, when I was there there was a birthday party or something going on in there, so it wasn’t open to the public.

Glad to hear your stick is on the way. I’m new to fighting games and the community as well so no worries… It’s encouraging to see/hear other new people.
This is sadly the most true statement i’ve heard on this thread in a whiles now.
Also, major GGs to everyone last night at Area XIII. I actually am starting to get the hang of street fighter again, so i’ll see where it gets me. Also, pleasure to meet all the newer players that came out and hope to see all you more.
