and rob I agree with most of what you said in your last post, I just do what works best for me. just irritating when you see people playing the game for a day that are already switching mains cause they don’t wanna invest the time sink or play with a base character. the problem for me is I’m still not 100% on who I want to main. when I decide you can be sure I’ll be playing them alongside ragna.

the thing is i know j-money is good enough at fgs to main carl but he might have gotten a different impression of the character before he played him. Like the only reason I wanted to main Rachel was she’s a vampire and i didn’t know she was a little girl or anything or even a top tier character as far as matchups go. You can get into a game like blazblue just playing who you like.
My bad. My girlfriend came home and started yelling at me since I’ve been playing BB all week. Now that I got you added, we’ll definitely play. When are you online most during the week?

on one hand…i can get my 360 fixed for 50 bucks…but i’d need a stick so thats 150 and a subscription to xbox live another 50 PLUS the game…so thats what…300 dollars+ to play a game…
ps3 would be 400 plus the game, but i’d be getting an entirely new system AND a blue ray player…
I was telling Syxx earlier that we all need to get some kind of schedule set up so we can all practice and shit. The connection didn’t seem too bad earlier. I’m always up for games whenever I’m not working or whatever, so if you see me on PSN, just send a message or whatever and we’ll play.
Yeah, I’ll agree that everyone learns at a different pace, and some people might do better learning an easier character and then switching. I’m just saying that from my experience, I’ve seen people who start off weak turn into BEASTS with their character just from the amount of experience, and I don’t want people thinking that they should rely on the easy character and switch to them whenever they have trouble with the character they want to learn. But yeah, I get what you’re saying.
Yeah, I agree. I also think that people should try for more than a day if they want to learn their character, however, if they want to switch mains, the earlier is the better. I do think that once you decide on a main, that you should really stick to that character. Going “I don’t want to use Carl anymore so I switched to Jin because I like Jin better” is very different from “I can’t use Carl, so I’m gonna use Jin in the meantime until I decide to start using Carl again”. The former is fine, and I recommend playing the main you want to play after trying out the game first, but the second one is just an excuse imo, and if you’re eventually gonna use Carl in the end, that it won’t help to switch. I guess that’s what I was getting at.
But yeah, if you don’t know who you want to main, then I say take your time figuring it out, because that decision is important, imo. I will suggest that after playing for a while and deciding your main, that you should put as much effort with that character as possible without switching to the easy character, because I think you’ll get better as a whole. You’re good at 2D fighters, so I know you have the ability to be good at Blazblue, and I think you can wreck house with whatever character you decide to use. :thumbu:
To those that care, Frys has the SF4 set up again in front of the store with the SE sticks with a nice big HD TV. Probably lags to all hell but if you’re nearby wouldn’t hurt to whoop some noob ass.
Thats for the vote of confidence Dan. Yea going into the game (before it released) I wanted to play Carl simply cuz he could do those cool 100% combos. I didnt even think about how hard he would be to play or if he even fit with my personal playstyle (also he kinda reminded me of dorothy from AH2) But after actually playing the game I didnt like how he felt, or played. But after playing with Rachel for like 2 minutes I was in love.
Any gatherings going on this week? or something? I wanna get in some offline games.
