Does anyone play online chess? I play on www.gameknot.com and I was wondering if anyone here was on there or any other chess sites. I’ve been on that site for 3-4 years and its pretty cool cus even if you don’t become a paying member you can always have 20 games going at a time.
Are there any other chess sites out there that gives more games for free?

I just got a yahoo account today. I was a 1800 rating the last time i played
well i’m on vacation for a week right now from school and have some time to play. I used to be my high school team captain for chess. Yeah I know I’m a big nerd but I really do enjoy playing and my last rating in uscf was 1395(nothing really special). I do have a yahoo account and would be willing to play send me a pm. Time will be a problem as I’m currently in Shanghai,China but I’m sure something could be worked out. later

Used to play a lot. Was completely addicted. However, I quit online cause I hated losing to beginners cause my mouse would quit holding my queen and suddenly being down a shitload.
My chess skill has seriously taken a hit after getting absorbed in fighting games. I still play though… I think the most definite authority in chess is www.chessclub.com… especially because thats what all the Chessmaster games endorse.
You can get a free week membership, or just play as a guest… same thing pretty much, just restricted a bit. Plus it has all the major spinoffs like bughouse, crazyhouse, atomic… etc…
But man, were any of you the guys who played chess at Evo? I only got to play a bit, but it was a nice change of pace while waiting waiting in line to signup.
I played chess at Evo. Last year and two years ago too (I brought a big ass wooden board two years ago).
Damn, I use to be a chess junkie. I had a peak performance rating of 1700 (USCF) many years back and I was addicted to ICC, but since then, I haven’t played that much, so I forgot a lot of stuff.
