Cool…can’t wait to see it with the cab art…that will be my next project in the long future…building a cab. For now though, will stick with my 2P stick chillin’ on the coffee table. My friend’s have dubbed it “the beast,” which seems to suit it well. I live in a townhome and wanted to initially have a stand up in the garage, but no room with our cars and all of our other junk.
Anyways…how much time would you estimate you’ve spent on putting it together, no paint or anything? Also, how much did u spend on raw material?
PS - Just noticed it’s up for public play. Mad props dude!!! Spread love, younger players will remember you and be like “remember that one guy’s house with the arcade, that guy was sick!”
Can I see your first scratch built cab/cp/stick so that i can give you some pointers/judge your ability to even give critcism?
On topic: pretty good for a first attempt dude. i know you probably didn’t post this for an art show critique, but for the sake of anti-trolling… since it’s hard to round out the base you should usually go all out with the “block” look and let the top panel and art create the interesting lines and curves to fight the “table” look. you should paint that skinnier bottom part a slightly different color so it looks like a controller resting on a pedestal. some brighter trim or panels like a fakey coin/access door would make it pop too since it’s a real simple shape. Keep it up dude, and props on the american height.
Oh man that brings back memories of the first time i saw Mortal Kombat at my local Adventure Landing. looked about the same except the screen was a 50incher and was a little lower. but otherwise, it was pretty much the same. God that thing had so many long lines sighs.
Cost of the Wood, Screws, and glue… Was about $50…
We had myself and my brother stand next to each other(both 6’6 250 ibs!) and made the space where it’d be comfortable for us… Meaning ANYONE could be happy there!
Really appreciate all the input guys! the art will be on TODAY! so you’ll be able to see the finished product…
Didn’t know haters could vanish into thin air. Now if you could add a platform off the back of the control thing and house some awesome speakers as well as the TV…it’d be perfect
