Yeah I think if this thing was painted even just a flat black to match the TV, there would be less criticism, but I can understand how anxious you must have been to show this thing off after slaving for hours to put it together.
I like how this is not a viewlix clone (nothing against viewlix clones per se, but we get a lot of those here already). My only criticism is that I wish the bottom part had rounded corners like the top. Or at least bevelled corners. Other than that it looks great.
the only gripe i can say is that its stand up and not sit down
Unless really really really tall stools are purchased by the awesome people at the End. =D
No offense, but is that a work in progress? It leaves MUCH to be desired. Its not so much a cab as it is a stand-up stick panel with an LCD overhead.
Basically, like a HALF built cab. With that said, the bottom half in the pic looks decent enough, now just need the monitor PROPERLY set-up and contained.
Understand that when we think of arcade cabinets---- we picture something traditional like either a U.S style Dynamo or a japanese Vewlix cabinet.
Nothing wrong with stools. Iāve played countless hours of MVC2 on a U.S cab sitting on a stool at my local arcade.

I personally like the idea of this pedestool cab but I also have critism.

i think itās a good first build. since i grew up old school, i am used to the stand up cabs. also, i like the spacing between 1st and 2nd player. although i like the sit down Japanese cabs nowadays, there is simply no room between you and your opponent (unless you are playing on a dual cab vs player setupā¦)
Good work, on the cab. Got a question, what is the inspiration for this build? Reason I ask: youāve built what looks like the controller pedestal of a showcase cab, except without all the extra stuffā¦

Since you are using an LCD panel, you could actually get away with a showcase redo of sorts and still keep your space saving intactā¦ just throwing that out there:wink:

I like the American stand-up style with Japanese parts. I grew up in the US and I played standing up, but over time adopted the Japanese parts. I donāt know why everyone was raping this guyās work, especially considering that heās offering everyone the freedom to play on it.
Actually I love the GL Cabā¦ It was gonna be my original design basisā¦ but we donāt have THAT much room we went with a space saving design that still gets to the point! I am sorry if some of the newer gamers love sit down cabsā¦ I just flat out donātā¦ If itās sit down itās gonna be a rail shooter IMHO.

Hey the cab looks a lot better now! Good job on getting it painted! If they ever get tired of standing, they can just go outside and chop off a couple feet of the bottom but thereās nothing wrong with the way it is now.
What exactly did you hope to accomplish by hating on this guy?
