Here is my Madcatz TE Round 2 Mod.
I finally got The Artwork and plexi from Arthobbies today.
Parts used
6 Sanwa Red OBSN-30 Pushbutton Threaded
Seimitsu LS-56 Spring
Sanwa Joystick Adapter
Sanwa LB-30-N Bat Top
GT-Y Octagonal Restrictor Plate
Arts Plexi and print
Red Transparent Dust cover
I’m doing a little video of the process so i’ll keep you guys posted.
Enjoy These in the mean time.
The screws that the stick comes with are crap, the screw got all striped after only one time opening it so i had to find new ones.
I found them at a hardware store, The top right hole was also faulty, i had to get thread locker glue for that.
I have small hands so those screws don’t really bother me.
Alright here is my stick I just finished up. Madcatz PS3 TE Fightstick customized with Orange bubbletop, Semitsu PS-14-KN, and Assassin Artwork. Artwork and plexi thanks to Art!
So it took me sometime 2 sell my old ps3 TE in order 2 get me a 360 TE. Robokirt inspired me to do a mod that used rj45 4 multi console purposes and how he relocated his start/select buttons. With the expertise of Gummowned, I took it a step foward so check it out…
And here’s the final piece from my previous post. Tekken 5 case, pcb, modded with all sanwa and an hrap2 layout (seimitsu 1p).
I’m rather pleased with myself right now. I’ve never soldered before and only watched 2 youtube videos and at the end of the day I didn’t mess any buttons up. Only had a little mishap with the joystick motion but since I used a barrier strip, fixing the problem was a cinch. I also used solid wire instead of stranded which I didn’t notice till after I soldered everything but it turned out to be a non-issue and everything is working great. Thanks to zeetes who sent me an extra pair of sanwas, I won’t need to get another set from elsewhere.
Just need some bleeding jlf mounting screws that I haven’t been able to find. Tried Home depot and they didn’t have the right one.
So im happy thats its done. All that is needed is to get a sanwa flash 1 or a ASCII Optical Answer, Art plexi and stick art. I will hit the thread again when the project is completed.
I really like the buttons, they feel really responsive on contact. The only bad thing about them was inserting them, I agree! Well really the only one was the bottom left one because it was interfering with the joystick base. I just slightly bent the side up and could stick the screw-in on the bottom and basically put it in reverse. The rest were ok, aligning took some time (more so for this one cuz the middle portion of the art was very detailed, next time, not so detailed artwork :bgrin:).
Finally got the artwork and painr on my custom stick, wanted to make an obvious VSHG clone those cases look extra slick. Wanted to keep the art simple and clean.
