Damn it, Meus! You’re like a black hole for rare sticks.
I got my hands on a few of those Virtua Sticks recently and just modded the hell out of them. They’re crazy sturdy. I replaced the bulky terrible metal top panel with one made out of a durable ultra light wood. Here’s my 360 padhack:

I got all my Virtua Stick mods up on my blog:
There’s a Grimlock image I’ve been trying to find, he slams Wheeljack against a wall and says “Me Grimlock, badass!”, if I ever find it, I’ll have someone vector the damn thing for me.
Completely different subject, has anyone ever done a Lego stick? I’ve been pricing Lego sets lately thinking about it, but just can’t find the motivation to spend the money to do it.
kaku that looks sick where did you get the plexi from? and what paint did you use?
Hey,
Heres a TE “docking station” I have made for someone. It is going to go with a Madcatz TE Comic Con edition so I tried to match the colour scheme. I put a mirrored plexi on the base to make it a little more exciting than plain black. The notch on the front is for the headphone jack and the one on the back for start/select.
I have never had the need for one of these, but apprantly some people prefer their cases bolted down so that they don’t move.

that pretty bad ass b15 u da man
That looks great, but I’m curious as to what the purpose of it is - is it a permanent fixture on a table or something, to hold the TE in place?
Yeh, you got it! The docking station is bolted down to a table and then they can place the TE into it. I guess its to stop the case jumping about during heated play.
I love you lol.
Sega did release virtua stick for PS and this one i have its very rare to get. Also
nice paint job on ur mooded stick and its nice to see more virtua sticks modded or not.
Thank you when it comes to rare sticks they are my specialty.
My next mission is to find Hori ps2 SE. Hori made only 400 of those in stock. I had found one few months back for 100 dollars but i missed it.
Nice modds u have there for virtua sticks. U right the cases are sturdy and awesome and the layout rocks. i still have white clone case virtua to moddd still lol. But its nice to see more ppl with virtua moddeds or stick in general.
Very nice. I like the idea. That’s dedication! lol
Here is a stick I built for my own personal use. It is very compact for easy transport so I can throw it in my laptop bag.
The actual case is the chunli-sakura one I built some time ago. It didnt sell, so I pimped it out and am keeping this for my self.
Inspiration for art work came from illustrator76s last sticks. Being an architect my self its only right to fuse the two ideas.
The balltop is finished in chrome/mirror effect. You got to see it in person to see how well it reflect as the flash/sunlight was putting too much glare on it.
I have used different ideas from all my past sticks and tried to fuse them all into this one. Its almost like a portable portfolio to show people different designs. The lightening on the back was a first for me, but quite easily done.

Stunning and original. Good stuff.
B15 you did it again!!! Damn homie GREAT JOB!!!
Unreal. That is beautiful.
That’s sick. As usual, the paint job is killer!!!
One of these days B15, one of these days…
I’m gonna buy one of those sticks!
not if you only take down the upper height (lowering the balltop) it would shorten the throw a bit but not the physical function of the mechanism.
yeah. when you find an ascii optical you don’t need a shaft in, send me the pcb lol
and i’ve never had a problem with a hori shaft in a jlf. i usually use them on namco mods
exactly what i was talking about. i never thought of drilling out the ball though, i was planning on lathing down the shaft and rethreading it.
did you put dowels diagonally through the corner joints? i left mine long once (a little too long but i like the look) http://godspu.com/pics/lc_talim.JPG
badass as always. you may want to consider wetsanding the seam out of the ball and repainting it though.
B15SDM, this is why you are like a rock-star in the world of custom joysticks.
I really look up to your quality of work.
When I build a new stick, I always try to incorporate something that I learned from your examples. For instance the rounded over edges of the start, select, guide holes… (wait is that a chamfer?)
Once again, great job. Another example of why you are one of the top builders I have ever seen.
I think what REALLY sets you apart is your painting. To a point, anyone can lear to build a nice box, but you paint the SHIT outta some boxes.
Like Kaytrim and his affinity for quality wood accented by clear poly coats to show off how nice the wood is, I believe that you could make a cardboard box look like a 300$ stick with the painting prowess you possess.
Great job, B15, you are a rock-star!
I think that’s the reflection of the edge of the box! Not a seam. I may be wrong though.
u pimped the shit out of it b15 my next stick will be from you cant wait
wheres that balltop from
@Godspu- This was the first time I have used the chrome effect and didnt realise it would show up that badly. It sort of magnifies any imperfection 100x. I was in a rush as I was getting fustrated with playing sf4 on my keyboard, lol.
To be honest the chrome effect takes a long time to complete due to all the different layers and preperations you need to do to before and in between coats to make the chemical work, otherwise it just turns to grey.
Im going to make a batch of them and will be sure to get rid of the seam.
@everyone: Thank you for the good words!! (I dont know how to multi-quote,lol, sorry)
