I Agree with the grinding of the screw part of the shaft as long as you retain some of the screw or don’t pass the clamp washer. The teeth are indeed not lower than the shaft bottom, but the washer mod changes that. I used the washer mod because I don’t have metal grinding tools and wanted something uber simple. Even the throw difference with the washer mod is negligible, but again, the slim 1.5 is a VERY tight design. Little room for error. Grinding the bottom of the shaft successfully and filinf down the gate teeth would definitely give you more room to work with since millimeters count in this build.
As for a shortened shaft height, I’d love it. Would make the height feel like the stick is mounted deeper and decrease the top plate to ball throw.

I finally found rare and cheap virtua saturn ps2 stick in mint condition. I havent seen one of those sticks posted here or i have missed and they go on ebay for 150 dollars which that is insane but im happy for my finds.
