Im sure japs read srk and pass on any info to their friends. Ves unblockables suddenly become common on both sides of the globe at the same time? Seems unlikely. I know a week after I posted the st.mp ultra combos I saw it in vids from Japan, etc etc
Yeah for sure they’ve become more popular now, which makes me somewhat proud, but also I sometimes wish I kept quiet, I would probably have people messing up more trying to escape haha.
Anyways, I’m probably going to be posting less till after SCR. I need a lot of training time between now, and don’t really want to distract myself with silly arguments/explaining things that are obvious and all that other dumb stuff.
Good luck dude, I will be rooting for you on the stream
Ves…? Where do babies come from?
:-?
no blanka´s at the godsgarden x twitchtv tournament???
i am dissapoint
Really hard when blanka had max trouble vs akuma twins sage fei. So hard to do well in tourney.
all those characters were banned other than Sagat.
Blanka is weak in the format they used though(original 12 sf2 characters)
Blanka loses to Sagat, Boxer, Dictator, Ken, Claw
Blanka goes even with Honda, Ryu, Sim, Gief, Himself
Blanka beats Guile and Chun
Going even with Honda is not a universally shared opinion, a lot of people think he loses to him. None of these matches are easy exactly. You still have to have great spacing and play long drawn out rounds a lot the time.
Might as well just pick Sagat or Ken like 3/4’s of the entrants did and win.
Finally found a use for j.lk, but it’s so specific it doesn’t even matter.
In other news j.lp is godlike, so many mixups.
Jump LP ? Unblockable ? I just know it has a great hitbox.
jump lp? lol
i can’t wait to hear it… i love how ridiculous the move looks… definitely look forward to hearing how you use it so i can troll lol

Yeah, that’s true. But i was expecting at least one player repping each char. I mean there was a Guile and a Gief who also have a bad time against Sagat. I think only Blanka and Dhalsim got no representation.
back throw > fwd dash > jp.lp agaisnt Rog. Ves posted it in the unblockables thread!
Jumping lights are good for frame traps. Lots of players use OS throw/block (pressing throw when they expect to be put into blockstun) in response to jump in to defend against empty jumps on their wakeup (Viper players bait this by doing empty jump into air BK). However, if you do a j.lk/lp the extra frame advantage which will cause their OS throw to fail if you followup with an appropriate move. A safe jump j.lp puts you at about +7f +4f even after landing frames, so you can follow up with st.mp or cr.mk for a counter-hit into sweep or U1. cr.mk/lk is better because if they are OS throwing they will get hit low, whereas if they do it slightly late they’ll still be able to block mid attacks.
illitirit are you sure that j.lp does that much blockstun? it feels like less than j.lk to me for whatever reason, I was having trouble getting st.strong to combo off of it even using the landing buffer. Someone with ono check for me please.
J.lp does very minimal block stun which makes it a very tricky frame trap situation. It can also be used as an unblockable, or a fake crossup. The unblockable is not that good, but the fake crossup stuff is very very strong in the corner.
Should I make a mixup thread?
Also I’ve been using meaty cr.mk xx hop a lot recently, it’s odd, people wait for blanka to crossup and then I don’t and they get hit.
I didn’t measure it 100% but it’s probably around 6f/7f. A while back I tested it vs Ryu’s crouching jab and a cr.mp (7f) followup after safejump j.lp traded. I could never get the jab to outright beat cr.mp. Wasn’t a 100% scientific test I know but it was something I noticed while messing around with other stuff.
EDIT: I’m an idiot. It should be about 4f (7 - 4 = 3f = trade with jab). Dunno how I got 7f. Probably added the landing frames or something.
just playing around with it, 4 frame followups are true blockstrings, 8 frame followups are true blockstrings if you use a medium button. Interesting.
Speaking about hop a bit I’ve been using hop cancel like nuts lately other than in my footsie game doing s.lp xx hop to get in, also doing stuff like c.lk x 2 xx hop or c.lk x 2 s.lp xx hop, seems to be pretty good especially when I’m keeping the pressure down with electricity cancel and sometimes ending on different sides that I don’t even know… But doesn’t really make a difference since I’m either doing c.lk or throw… Really confuses the crap out of people especially if they are a charge character the hop usually messes up their charge one way or another…

Heck yes
Who understands Japanese?
Did Saikyo lose 45-5 to Super Santarou Man’s Sagat?
It didn’t say what character they use but your assumption is right 45-5
