Charleston SC, WE SHANK TOP 5!

There is a confirmed 3 frames of lag (maybe more but I do know it’s 3 frames) using PS3 BC. I couldn’t tell you why that is but I’m assuming it’s more or less because the games have to be de-interlaced then upscaled.

well did not know that! Just curious. Where did you find this out? Reputable source? I’m curious because I didn’t perceive it. Like I said though, I’m a scrub. If it’s true maybe I do need a PS2 after all.

Edit: Nevermind, I found some large threads about it going into detail about the problem and now I understand it. I really do need a PS2 now for fighting games, although the BC is still wonderful for every other kind of title (2 frames isn’t noticable on most other genres, especially PS2 games).

Thanks for the tip! I need to play Guilty Gear as lagless as possible if I ever hope to get beyond scrub status.

There is lag on the PS3 BC… I remember me, SMP, and I think Ryan was there too tried to play CVS2, and we couldn’t even use sticks… I used pad and was barley able to play it still, so I hooked up the PS2 so we could play…

Real Talk…

GG’s Online the other night Chris T… you have improved times 10…

Yeah to be honest I don’t think most people can notice 4ms or less but when you have one frame links and you’re use to doing it without lag, trying to delay your timing for even 1 frame later blows. Much less three. I miss bc though :frowning:

ATTENTION

If anybody can bring a 360 and/or PS3 + games, please let us know. Also, make sure you bring component or HDMI cables.

Yeah. my mind = blown at that revalation. Its because of HDMI. It doesnt do 480i (most PS2 games’ resolution) naturally so the PS3 needs to change it to 480p (HDMI’s minimum resolution).

I mean there’s no lag with component cables. I may try out having my PS3 hooked up to HDMI and Component simultaneously and using system menu to change output to component when playing a fighting game and see how that works out. That way I can have the best of both worlds (PS3 clean and smooth video output plus lag free) without having yet another system under my TV for like the 2 or 3 fighters I play on PS2. On any non-fighting PS2 game, a few frames doesn’t mean shit, even beatemups and action games.

Protip: Buy American; Go X-box.

^^I concur

of course! 360 was my first system and is my primary system! I use my PS3 for tourneys, for movies, and for PS2 games mostly. 80% of my gaming time or more is 360!

Multiplayer online games like most FPS xbox 360, Single player, fighting games and RPG ps3.

who buys a 360 with their primary concern being fighting games???

I’m in Miami bitch!!! lolz

People without ps2 sticks they want to still use. Didn’t have to install sf4 to play it, tekken will run better on it, etc etc

LMAO is a terrible group

I do… :smokin:

Man I can’t take another lag conversation. Stop it pleeeease!

So it looks like everyone is showing up to this tourney. I am coming to watch, but I haven’t played seriously in months. So I will just be a spectator.

You were there last time we tried to play CVS2 and 3S !

I’m not saying lag doesn’t exist.
I’m saying I don’t want to hear people talking scientifically about lag like they have some advanced degree from Forum University. :nono::rofl:

I didn’t say anything. I’m just saying you were there ! Hah…

I agree with you on that one, though. Let me teach you some shit son !

Ok, I’ll bring my SDTV for the 5vs5 then.

I actually have one, true story.

ima be there i got off! but im not sure how good ill do…
