I got it. 360 though, but I definitely like it outside of the netcode issues.
If you are serious about DJ Hero, I don’t have much sympathy for you when you realize that, other than how the music is mixed, the game really is made of fail and a half. There is almost literally NO learning curve to it. Played it once on the demo on medium and thought it was kinda kewl. Played it on Hard after that and was not impressed with the difficulty. The hardest part about that game would be getting used to the crossfader, which is pretty obvious since real DJ’ing, it takes a LOT of time and practice to get good at using a crossfader.
IMO, just mod your ps2 and get Beatmania IIDX. You’ll not only be getting a much better soundtrack, but the game is a shit-ton harder.
But this is coming from a hardcore rhythm player that doesn’t like GH, so w/e. shrug
I wish I did have monies to get T6 or something. =/ I got into T5 before DR and loved the ps2 version. But that was over two years ago, so what little skill I DID have then I don’t have now. sigh Tho if Asuka Kazama is in it, if I do pick it up, I’ma learn her. >=D

I didn’t pick up tekken six, like sville Paul said I think as a whole Josh ruined tekken for us and just made it unfun to play with his “I won’t play you guys in casuals cause you aren’t dedicated enough for me to waste my time” antics.
I’ll probably try to hit a few goose creek get togethers though as long as Josh doesn’t show, so if you guys are willing to teach a beginner I’ll do my best to learn.
I’m loving dj hero. Dizzy, I like you but I can’t understand your reasoning for not liking it. It’s not hard enough? Does that mean the only fighting games you enjoy are execution heavy? Your favorite platformer is like ninja gaiden black? It’s the first game with it’s style, give it time to find it’s rythmn. Let’s see if
downloadable content ups the difficulty. I haven’t beaten dj hero on the hardest setting yet, maybe you have, but I can’t comment on how hard it is or isn’t. I think dj hero is a great buy
for anyone who likes the genre, both music wise and game wise.
I feel it’s unfair for you to say beatmania (whatever number) is better and has a better sound track that dj hero. They are different games with different styles of music and for every good DnB song on beatmania there’s like 2 jpop snoozers. Plus beatmania has how many more version than dj hero? Don’t compare a polished product to something new and innovating

Josh man no one hates you. At least around G.C. that I know of. I know what Rob is saying though. Sometimes you do act a little elitest and needy for homage. Everyone talks stuff and has said things, but it isn’t anything that really matters. I know you think I hate you, but I don’t. I happen to not agree with most of the stuff you say or probably think. I don’t agree with Paul on a lot of stuff either and he is probably the closest friend I have here in Charleston. Because at the end of the day no matter what is said or done, we sweep that shit under the rug and move on. That’s what true friends do. Let that shit go. Say what you gotta say about it, be pissed about it, but you don’t let life long friends go over bullshit.
We have all dedicated time, money and effort to the community. I show up at tourneys and pay money knowing I wont win, but i’m supporting the community. My house as well and (Especially)Paul’s has been the spot for many gaming sessions for the whole community. Everyone has given rides and supplied game systems, games, TV’s and gone out of there way for people. I don’t know what else we can give you besides the same thanks that everyone gets when they do something for someone. You are not the anchor in the commmunity. The community anchors itself. Any tournys you throw are shown gratitude by attendance. The fact that most of us show up on a regular is our way of showing loyalty. The fact that I don’t agree with you has nothing to do with the fact that you threw a tourny. I think that everyone will agree with me when I say we don’t owe PnT anything. He has gotten business from a lot of people who didn’t even know the store was even there. You haven’t been a part of the community for a while, by your own choice and that’s fine you have things to do. Yoou just have to remember that there is never just one person who holds the community together. We have all worked to keep this thing going. We host game sessions at our houses a lot more that we hold tourneys. That’s the backbone of the community. Tournaments let us showcase our skills and we appreciate them but that is not the only thing that matters. I don’t understand what else you want from us.
If you want to start showing up to casuals then everyone is cool with that. Even Paul said he wishes you would show up more. I’m sure everyone you talk to has told you this. Yeah there may be a little bad blood, but nothing that can’t be swept under the rug like all the other B.S. It’s up to you. You can stay in your self inflicted exile or you can be part of the community . It’s always been your choice. All of us don’t get along or agree about everything, but we do deal with it and move on. That’s just life.

Play DJ Hero outside of a demo before you make snap judgments and then post them on a fighting game board to subtlety troll someone you don’t know.
DJ Hero is hard on expert = FACT. No random scratches and from what I’ve seen is pretty close to the ACTUAL scratching used on the tracks.
Honestly, I’m not a fan of any US rhythm games.( Rockband is an exception because its more of a party game.) I’ll play DJ Hero if given the opportunity, but its not something I would buy. It just doesn’t look like something that I could devote hours upon hours to like Pop’n music/IIDX.
My biggest complaint is the lack of timing windows that any “Hero” game has. There is no emphasis on accuracy, but scoring is entirely combo based. And why can’t we just have a simple overhead scrolling interface instead of this reverse-hallway-only get half the screen of notes crap. Sure it looks pretty, but traditional rhythm games have a much more FUNCTIONAL interface.
I also like IIDX’s music much better than what I’ve heard from DJ Hero. (I have every single IIDX OST)
Dizzy: btw, how good are you at IIDX? I kinda stopped playing, but I think Empress will make me start again. I’m just starting to be able to clear 10’s. My roommate can AAA 11’s like it’s cake. It’s disgusting.

I understand what you mean about the accuracy dynamic an eventually I think it’ll get there. It probably isn’t in currently due to there being no standard latency on HD tvs. wHat would play well on one HD tv might be unplayable on another. Play beatmania on a ps3 on a HD tv and let me know how fun that is >_>
also, “better music” is just a preference statement. I like dj Heros music waaaaay better plus beatmania doesn’t have downloadable music…

DJ Hero is actually surprisingly strict on accuracy based on what I’ve played. GH and RB tend to have pretty loose timing windows but DJ Hero doesn’t really. Kinda weird. And I really wish I had the patience to learn Beatmania again. I tried once for awhile but I just couldn’t keep up. I’d just rather play DDR as my Japanese rhythm game of choice honestly. 
This is kinda why I hope that OLED TVs in the next few years get down in price big time because any lag issues will be completely solved while giving us a great picture.
Do any of you xbox owners experience random disconnects from XBL? my shit disconnects every 15min or so and it’s startin to piss me off

BTW I am done with sf4. Tekken 6 is pretty much to me the perfect fighting game. Everyone should get it. Its ranked number one in japans arcades for 3 years now. I got me Bruce bnb and now wanting to play with ppl.

It is reasons like that that I don’t like talking on forums anymore. No one can seriously take an opinion with a grain of salt. I like hard RHYTHM games. I didn’t say anything else. I like games with good, yet challenging learning curves. To me, I saw a very little learning curve with DJH compared to that of Pop’n, Jubeat, DrumFreaks, etc etc. Like I said, I’m a hardcore rhythm player, tho I’m not exactly very good atm. shrug
And just to let you know IIDX means Two Delux. It’s the 7-key style that was introduced a while back when Beatmania 5-key was getting popular.
I’m not quite that great at IIDX, SonGohon. I try to pick it up every now and then with the controller, but the American port of Beatmania was just horrible horrible. =/ And I don’t have a modded ps2 yet. I’ll tell you, tho, Empress is GORGEOUS! I have a stepmania theme that is based off of BMIIDX16- Empress that is very nice. n.n

anyone play Borderlands? released with little fanfare, but i cant find a bad thing written about it except for the climax is thin (probably because they are going to expand it with dlc and those people were impatient)
Borderlands is pretty good game. But It gets really boring if you play by yourself. If u have friends to play with its a great game. I give it an 8.8 out o 10. Mike get on that tekken man. Thats what Charleston is known for.
