I blame Hori. Apparently the Sanwa they put in there is a busted version where the microswitches short out after awhile. It wouldn’t be a big thing, but it also uses uncommon grounding so each switch needs it’s own ground wire. Most Sanwas aren’t like that, so now I have to re-do a bit of wiring.

There was a SE street fighter 4 stick at gamestop in the mall (Babbages) a couple of days ago
I was thinking about getting an SE, but I think once I get that Seimitsu in there the stick should be pretty solid. Figured I should’ve replaced the stick when I replaced the buttons, but I thought it would be fine since it was a Sanwa.
Even Sanwa can make a shitty stick, I guess.

It sucks that we can’t use a converter to play Xbox 360 with a stick. The only one that works is the same price as the SE stick.

Well, technically my major is Telecommunication Systems Management, which is mainly dealing with networks and routers. Ive seen alot of colleges where Computer science majors only have software coding classes, which i had a few, but not anywhere as deep as you have probably been.
The hardware course i did at TTC was reeeeeallly simple, in the sense of classwork being “this is a hard drive, it goes in heeeere…” there were some old PC’s we worked on to get our feet wet, then at the end there was a practical final where we disassembled, then reassembled a custom AMD PC.
Hardware nowadays is pretty cake, just plug in slots for everything. back in the day you had to know how to sodder, but i’m not that good at it.
after you understand that you touch the powersource before anything else to release static electricity (even when u cant feel it u may fry something), and to take things exactly by whatever manual on the shit you are working on, its no big deal.
you wont need to know hardware unless thats what you will do specifically. i have plenty of programmers that could circle me with their code, yet fail miserably at understanding where to put the VGA cable after you upgrade the video card on a PC…

yea its brand new 69.99, i was going to get it but at the end of the day that buttton layout is not in my favor. IM SOOOO glad i got screwed at PnT when it came to that stick. cause if i puled that rucks out the box id of been HOT!
Josh: I was thinking about the team Ranbats, and I want to suggest that maybe we do them round robin style. Reason being, if there’s only ~8 teams, it’ll still go really quick and would give you a much more accurate sense of who the best team is. Besides, I think seeding the teams would be difficult to do properly.
You could do Round Robin and then have the top 2 teams play each other for 1st and 2nd. I think that would be pretty bad ass, no?
Edit: Thought of something that might make Round Robin even better. Instead of just counting total wins and losses, we could go one step further and award points per match. For example: going 0-2 would get you 0 points for that match, 1-2 = 1 point, 2-1 = 2 points, and 2-0 = 3 points. This way, you’re given credit for your individual wins, and at the same time it makes it so that one person can’t carry the team the whole time.
I’m pretty sure this is how I’ll do it for Myrtle Beach. It seems like such a good system.

Hey Shawn did you get an infraction for posting a spoiler? I just logged in and noticed I had one.
So how long after a movie comes out is it considered a spoiler? I figured since it was coming out on DVD next week it was fine.
Especially since the rules say:
- No spoilers without using the spoiler tag. No one likes having their shows spoiled especially if an area hasnt had a opportunity to watch it yet. New shows can be talked about the next day and movies wait 3 days before spoiler tags don’t have to be used. Any violation will result in a infraction.

Justin: We’re not doing 2v2 this month. That’s probably going to be next month.
As for the team tournament, it’s really going to depend on how many teams we have. If we have 8+, we can bracket it. If it’s less than 8, round robin. The way the actual matches will work is that both starting players play first, then the winner stays and plays the teammate of his opponent. If he sweeps him both, his team is awarded a victory for their 1st set.
If it’s round robin,we were going to track wins + losses. Most wins + least losses = winning team in that scenario.
