This will be the last tournament I host before I go to basic training. The Elite Zone tournament series will still carry on without me, it will just be under new management. Hope y’all can make it out.
Picked up Marvel last night. Guess it’s training mode time. Once I learn my characters I’m gonna be hitting you guys up for tech. I think I’m going to pick up KOF once I get comfortable with marvel.

Good Aurthur. Just stick with it. You will get to a point where it is second nature to you. Check out www.phong.com and start doing searches for Photoshop effects and tutorials. The Photoshop WOW! book is a really great source as well.

Jerome: You wouldn’t happen to know anything in regards to video editing, would you? Software, tutorials, etc. And don’t worry, this won’t be for my “home movies.” The lotion is already in the basket >:D
Camtasia Studio is pretty good as well. Especially for screen capture but it does video editing to. Afterdawn . com has some free software that’s pretty good.
Just to remind ppl that The tournament is tomorrow night at dot games. Pre Reg starts at 9pm and the tournament starts around 10pm. I’m going to try and make it there around 8pm to get a extra hour of casuals.

eh… not sure if this would be for you then. Benefitting from this session would require that you have a clear goal in mind to improve an aspect of your game that you know is lacking. Coming in and playing until you “get comfortable” with either a match-up or the way your team meshes is something you can do at casuals. This is more for people who want to sit down with one another in training mode, versus mode, whatever mode to break down their characters to one another and share knowledge + ideas in order to improve. ie: Breaking down the Abel match-up as opposed to playing until you know what’s going on. If that sounds more in line with what you’re thinking, then you’ve got nothing to worry about
Sorry if that sounds a bit pretentious/condescending, but I’m going to straight up throw people out of the house if they begin to try and lame out W’s or panic mash instead of actively trying new things in an attempt to improve. This get together isn’t for counting win streaks or salvaging egos. It’s for getting better at the game(s). Tonight’s tournament is for all of that other stuff.
Well I’m coming with a few friends of mine so I might play again (I was the Shang/NightWolf Guy last time) and I know one of my friends is mainly coming for it.
Been practicing some umvc3 with the hopes of playing it at the tourney, but the more I play it the more that I realize I can’t stand it. There’s just so many damn gimmicks and I feel like I’m not seeing any real footsie game, just set ups and more gimmicks. Maybe it’s just that I’m a marvel scrub and I got blinders on, but the shit just isn’t fun to me. Maybe I’ll have some kind of revelation and change my mind, but for now i’m not gonna put any more time into it.
Someone please drop some knowledge on me or something. I hate not liking this game. I never liked Marvel 2, but always wanted to play it and enjoy it. So not being able to enjoy this one is gonna drive me nuts.
