yeah… ive been playing Ultmate and im not impressed, feels wierd. Hopfully ill get used to it.

Been playing some ultimate… not really feeling it. These marvel games are just not meant for me or something, I’ve always had a hard time playing them.
I definitely like it better than the first one and I love watching it on the streams and everything, but I just suck way too much at it for me to have any sort of fun playing it. I’ll give it some time and try to get better, but even with the new cast I can’t find many characters I enjoy. Doom is the only character I’m playing right now and I can’t really find a team to put up with him.
It sucks 'cause I’ve always wanted to play and enjoy Marvel games but the shit never seems to work out.
Character appeals sometimes plays a huge rolls whether you’ll enjoy a game or not and hopefully if you explore with the cast there will be someone else you like. Also, having a good group of friends to play against and experiment with helps a lot too
Yeah, that’s usually my downfall with any fighting game. If there isn’t at least 1 or 2 characters I really like, then I won’t play it for very long.
Completely forgot about Taskmaster, he was another one I had some fun with. So, who would fit in well with Taskmaster and Doom? I’d like to try to learn one of the new guys, but I’ll take any suggestions.
Hopefully finding a team I enjoy AND isn’t complete garbage will go a long way in making me enjoy umvc3 more.
Doom and Taskmaster are both really good characters in Ultimate (Doom being much better than his Vanilla form), so you’ve already got two solid characters. I would probably pick a character with a good assist who can help with your mix-up for both Doom and Task like Sentinel with drone assist.

One of my friends is picking up Doom. He seems ridiculously good right now lol. As for me, my current team is Viper/Vergil/Hawkeye. Viper is so good.
I think I’m going to give Hawkeye and Iron Fist a try but I need a third. Someone should make a how to build a marvel team 101 thread. On the surface the game is really kind of simple but then when you start to peel away the layers you start drowning. The fact is that there are so many options and possibilities you end up putting the game down. If we are going to play the game and keep it in the line up people are going to have to suck it up and take their lumps and hit the dojo. We also have to start helping each other level up. Beating someone who doesn’t know what they are doing shouldn’t be gratifying. You are only as good as your competition.I think that has always been the reason we can never go beyond a basic level of competition in Charleston. People are content with just beating the guy sitting next to him and that’s where it ends. What else is there? I’m really hoping KOF is gonna be good, but based on their last four games the outcome is not very promising. So marvel and Street Fighter 4 version 5 o_O are really the only options. We know that no matter how bad street fighter sucks people are going to play it. So we do need a backup and it’s gonna have to be marvel.
I don’t think people would mind helping out one another if… well… people would actually attempt to apply the advice that they receive after asking for it.
The game does have a lot of options. I’m digging it, but would not be surprised if it ends up being worse than vanilla.

@ Karnage: Seems like you’ve got a solid team so far. Hawkeye’s arrows can help Vergil get in and Viper can setup unblockables with Vergil as well. After talking with Byron, I plan on running Vergil/Morrigan/Sent as my main team and experimenting with other characters.
