Also guys I would like you to vote on weather Smash should be here or not. A lot of the old Smash Heads are being hard headed and a lot of the new guys just live out really far (Clemson mostly) but are hype to at least see that there are people interested in doing a tournament, but gas money and college might get in the way. PM me Yea or Na if you think we should run Smash at the tournament which will be Dec.3 btw. PM me a true and honest vote not something like Na because you hate Smash. Also if you can please bring out systems.
Alright guys the new SNF is in about 3 weeks away. I plan on being at the tournament to start casuals around 8:30pm. I get off work that day at latest 7pm so I’ll be there to set up casuals. Also I’m bringing my monitor and my 1 arcade ps3 stick. We need more ps3s to support the tournaments. I don’t own AE for ps3 and I don’t plan on buying UMVC3 for ps3 as well. I know we play tournaments on ps3 but we need ppl to help by bringing systems. I can bring it for xbox360 cuz I know most ppl here have 360 sticks. Any help will do and plz get in contact with Faust or myself if your going to bring your system.
No Smash.
I tried running Smash tournaments for years when I was putting together the other ones. I only had one of those Smash tournaments actually draw people. There are a few Smash players here who are trying to revive the scene, but that series isn’t in a very good place now.
To be honest, trying to organize tournaments for niche games such as Smash and doujin fighters isn’t going to be as beneficial to the community as running tournaments for the major games. Stick to what you know will draw! =D Street Fighter, Marvel, and Mortal Kombat will be what draws. As much as I <3 Tekken, we’re kind of in that dead space between games. It wouldn’t exactly draw people, but it has a better chance of people randomly playing it on the side than Smash does. If you had to have a game that wasn’t part of the mainstream, than I suppose BlazBlue would be your best draw… but even then it would net maybe 3-5 extra people and I’m fairly certain they would opt to bail at the last second because nobody else would be coming for it.

I thought a majority of Charleston still played on PS3 because most of us have sticks for it?
Does anybody want to ride up with me to the midnight release for UMvC3 tomorrow? I’m getting it from the Gamestop across the street from Northwoods (my cousin works there, gotta help out his numbers!). We’ve got Tekken Hybrid aka Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Demo coming out next Tuesday too! Woot woot! Hopefully the 2012 patch for SF will be good, otherwise I’ll probably be done with SF4. AE was such a slap in the face and nowhere near as good as Super imo.
I think those are the only 3 games being released until next year, right?
Unrelated note: Which non-fighters should I look into getting: Gears of War 3, Battlefield 3, Skyrim, Saints Row 3, and/or wait until the new GTA?

-Local Smash players only show up to one tournament every Haley’s comment and non-locals won’t travel to where there is no real Smash scene.

currently i’m playing ae and mvc3. i was also playing t6 and bbc but i dropped those cause no one else was playing them. i’m most likely going to drop everything for kof 13. i’ll play anything with a strong community backing it haha

Sorry Xbox kids. We were a Tekken place first, and yall had to wait until 6 to join the party!
In the non fighting game world I’m been playing Battlefield 3 and Skyrim took over my life this past weekend. Saturday was 11:30AM to 3:30AM with a couple of food and bathroom stops on the way. It’s a good game.
Also my friends pirated the new Zelda two weeks before release and it’s amazing also.
Get Skyrim. Hands down game of the year. Gears is also pretty good and Battlefield 3 is apparently good, but I don’t have it.
I’ve been hearing a lot of hype over this game. I might buy it this Thursday, if there’s a demo I can try first.
