Which was posted by ShinBlanka on the FR forums but I really don’t see how a sponsorship outside of Microsoft (have they ever sponsored a fighting game tournament?) would change systems. Seems kinda weird to me.

Thats what Larry posted up on the Final Round Tournament thread. It might change. I wouldnt be suprised at all cause most majors are being run on xbox besides a few EC tourneys. I know that ceo 11 is being run on 360.
I can see Super being changed to xbox, as it is the better console for that game. The ps3 scaler chip adds an inherent frame of lag, which is the argument for that reasoning. Tekken will stay ps3, simply because of the sheer amount of pad players.
MvC3 probably will stay ps3, unless Microsoft/Capcom find a way to patch it so that there are no random freezes. The slightly reduced framerate on ps3 is negligible compared to the freezes on xbox.
This might have been in response to the growing use of XBox 360 in west coast tournaments. This is due to the sponsorships they have though.
I wouldn’t look too much into this, and wasn’t sure why Thomas was posting it outside of speculating. If Sony offers sponsorship, it’d be on PS3 just the same.

Because the way I read the post was, “Hey! Look! FR might be going 360 too!”
Larry said if sponsors pay for it, FR will use 360. This doesn’t mean that FR is converting to 360 like other tournaments have. It means just that: if a sponsor makes it worthwhile, the tournament will be on 360. The same applies for PS3.
