The most important thing to do is to pick a character. Go through their move list. Do you still want to play them? Find 10 moves from that list that you like. Experiment with how to use them. Worry about juggles and air game after establishing a ground game.
Once you have a character that you’re sure you want to play, decide on a partner. Do you want to play another character that you like, or one that compliments the first character. Small steps lead to big gains!
I’m hosting at my house this Saturday from 5pm till when ever. Bring setups. I have a PS3 and an Xbox 360 with two 23" LCD screens. I live around the corner from Thomas. If you need my address let me know or text Thomas.
Glad everyone made it out. Good games Saturday night guys. It was fun to get some Tag games in. I’m going to start hosting a little more but it definitely won’t be as much as Thomas can. I plan on picking up an HDMI splitter and a capture card to start recording the match videos for learning purposes.
Good games on Saturday and Tuesday. It was lots of fun. Glad to see that there is new blood playing tekken on tuesday. Persona 4 was mad fun but I need to understand Anime games more but I’m learning though.
I’m going to to be making some new gaming stuff at my place and rules so everyone can play. I’m going to make up the rules tomorrow and post them up to see how u guys feel about them. I also working on having 3 more tv/monitors at my place. Right now I have 3 sets ups and plus one if we include Arthurs monitor. But I’m going to set up rules so we can make casuals more fun and so that everyone can play.
2 losses and pass. no salty run backs like normal scenes. you want a salty run back its going to have to cost! money!! if not its not worth the people watching and the other players time. u dont want to cut you up again and the people waiting to want to see you get cut up again so pay da toll to make it worth the players time and the people watching so no! Also maybe first person to 5 wins passes it like some scenes. We all know who’s good or who wins the most you don’t have to sit in front of the tv for 20 games straight… we been over this plenty of time now! lol. just follow the rules starting now and moving forward… to be a normal “professional” scenes would be a breath of fresh air for y’all i think. Progression.Future.Stabality. Think about it…
Whenever a new fighter (especially Tekken Tag) comes out, I struggle with the desire to play versus the fact that I don’t even have time to play online, not to mention hosted sessions, and those were the primary reason I enjoyed T5 so much. TTT2 makes me sad face.
if everyone is serious about getting better, make a rule where when you get perfected you have to cough up ten bucks. people will either level up real quick, or stop coming because they dont have any money for gas.
No need for major rules, but Shawn is on to something… I remember Ahmed use to win a lot in T5 and after 10 win he would pass it… Otherwise best of 3 matches as usual!!
yea 1) all matches should be first to 2. first to 3 for mvc3. 2) no run backs unless its a money match. and i say 3) 5 wins straight and pass would be better for the games these days. ssf4 is a turtle fest. no one is rushing in persona4 cause no one now how yet. and ttt2 has time has mad time outs even when ur maximizing damage. the games these days take to long for a set to be over so i say ft 5 straight wins not 10 then you pass. simple. rules aren’t major or hard if you follow them and that goes for everyone. i’m telling you session will be more enjoyable if we follow them. simple way to put it is think of every session as a tournament (which should be simple since everyone has been going to at least one a month maybe more. and plans on going to one or maybe more in the future especially now that tag and p4 dropped) 1) u sit down and play. 2) if u lose u get up and wait to be called again or win and u fight whoever’s next in line and keep the motion flowing! all your agreeing to by following this “if u lose two times you pass it rule” is that your going to be fair and let others behind you have a turn because eventually you will be the one waiting. Its symmetry in it most simplest form…
Some of y’all might think I’m just being a jerk, but you wouldn’t believe how many times I’ve heard, “I had to put up 30+ so that I wouldn’t deal with anybody’s mouth. I didn’t really get to learn anything new though because I have to just stay focused on beating them.”
