Charge partition in St?

In a recent tournament video I have seen Muteki achieving what I believed an urban legend: a standing flash kick.

The exact combo was: jump-in with kick, standing fierce connected with flash kick.

An amazing four hits combo.

I don’t think there are charge partitions in St but I don’t really understand how Muteki was able to land the standing flash kick.

Is it just a question of an astonishing timing (and training) or is there someting more to know?

It’s not a partition. Charge like usual, land after the jump kick, let the stick go to neutral, press fierce punch, press up and kick. Simple

Simple in theory maybe. But to achieve this movement - and in a tournament! - it’s necessary the best Guile player in the world.

maybe he didn’t feel like doing the boom combo? regardless your favorite player’s favorite player’s best friend can still do flash kicks after standing normals

With all love and respect :lovin:, it is even simple in game play. Ppl have been busting that out since every kid on the block had WW on the SNES, and Game-Pro published stand flask kick comboes in their magazine.

The reason it works is simple: you don’t lose your charge until you go into neutral state. Same reason air SBK for chun works at all (though I believe you have to do that one fast, which means you’re linking off of or cancelling jump frames or something).

Aside Muteki’s, do you know other tournaments videos where players use this “easy” technique?
