Rook - Yeah that’s the Akiman style, it’s so easy to do, it’s great! I have to study up on my anatomy again cuz my deltoids and shoulders are REALLY junky.
DF - Yeah, my anatomy needs work, bro. I made his mask iron like the old school SF2 style, you know like how his pic is when he’s beat up? Sorta like that!

yeah kando, you should look up some muscle pics while you work, it could really bring down your work otherwise.
here’s the adon. I used a muscle reference but the guy had his head up instead of down, back bent back, all kinds of muscles popping, i toned it down a bit.
Also did a value study first before putting in colors and I had to change the value a bit in the end. It looks ok in grayscale but when i add in colors the darks where too dark.
While working on this I notice that one of the important things to keep in mind while painting is edges. Since you don’t have lines, you really have to define your shapes with edges. Here’s some pointers to keep in mind about edges! http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=51913
Hehe, well we’re not voting on the new game just yet, although you’re welcome to give your input now as well as later when it’s official.
What I need to know right now is if you guys want to do the console cast, or if you just want to move onto a new game. Here are your two options:
Option A: After we finish the current characters, I’ll add on the console cast. This will add seven weeks to the challenge and will include these characters, in this order: Guile, Dee Jay, T. Hawk, Juli/Juni, Balrog, Fei Long, Evil Ryu. After those characters are finished, we will break for two weeks. During the first of those weeks we will vote on a new game using an official poll thread, and once decided, I’ll use the remaining week to build the site accordingly.

Just a thougth: On the two weeks off we could (1) Do one picture with all the charaters from the consloe (2) We could do a Game closing picture. Like an Alpha 3 themed picture.
I’ve never done a picture with more then two people and this would give a reason to go for it.
lol are you really up for that? that’s a hugeeeee cast man. What we can do instead is a collab…but those are hard to plan right.
ack sorry didn’t read your post right. Yeah just 1 pic with all the console characters would be cool, I’d be up for it. That way we’ll cover both options kinda.
btw the 2 weeks break is so we can decide on the next game and to allow CW time to set up the page for the next challenge. 2 weeks isn’t that long really. We’ve been doing this challenge since summer!

The Switcher: Top notch vega man! Tons of Tude in this one. You captured the character perfectly.
Bandit Chain: That Cody pic is classic, LOL. My only suggestion maybe is to move the face up the head a bit. Though I could be totally wrong since I suffer from “Drawing no forehead syndrome”
Dreaded Fist: OMG! That Adon is kicking ass. the Highlights look great and pull the colors up. The Brush strokes and pose are fantastic.
DanSC: You need to separate those legs man. She offers those big uns and her legs are joined together. That would be my worst drunken nightmare.
I’m with DF and Star on this one. 2 weeks to vote and pull together a group picture of all the forgotten characters is a great idea. That way everyone wins.
Can’t believe we are almost at the end of the challenge. This was a master stroke Chain. I still think you should inform Udon of this challenge. i’m Sure Erik would be into it.
cpt.munta: mika is looking good man. try to keep your highlights minimal and not so long so they don’t look tubular. Alot of your hightlights, like on the breats and cheek should be just a spec more or less. Nice groovy colors!
Man, I can’t keep up with you guys. I’ll leave the crits up to Chain, Rook and Dfist for now on. Everybody is doing excellent work though, Im glad everybody is stickin’ around.
