Out of topic! Sorry for hijacking this thread… but… I’m putting it here because it can concern other artists.

That’s a crap load of art. A lot of them are really good! The one that struck me the most was the angled Ryu pic. Ex-art student? Or just for interest?
Couple of crits, not sure if you’ve overcome it yet. You might wanna check out the muscle inbetween the biceps and triceps, on the outer side of the arm. It’s called the brachialis anticus (or biceps brachiali). It’s seldom drawn, but you should be aware of it, because it can be grouped with the deltoids, triceps, or supinator longus depending on the artist. It can give a lot of “oomph” to your arm if done well.
Deltoids (shoulder muscle) can afford to be “larger”. Can go to as low as the bottom of the chest line, depending.
Take note of the rear deltoid, and the overlapping of triceps, teres minor and teres major.

Yes, I am an anatomy freak. I asked “how to draw?”, and everyone said “learn your anatomy”. I can easily recommend George B. Bridgman “Constructive Anatomy”, or Andrew Loomis books available online (out of print).

I dunno what’chall talkin about but that bloody version of Gen is the SHIZ-NIGHT!, dawg. That has to be my favourite drawing from you Chain. Love the stains but the blood seems kinda syrupy. Just a few line on the blood should be nice, but it’s still a kickass drawing regardless.
Rook, man that Gen is sweet. I love that move, man. I’m glad to see your coloring more.
HB - Do you color from dark to light? I like how you did the muscles, but around the hand area it looks a little rush.
Landel - SRKing Gief would make him too good in SF. Nice job, man.
DanSC - The pose for your Gief is nice, but I think he could’ve dealt without his torso above, it kinda makes his lower side twist out of proportion. You have good expressions though. :tup: The first thing I thought when I saw him was Zang sayin “YOU ASSED FOR IT!” Great pose man. Keep it up.

Hehe, I guess I did go a little overboard on the blood. I prefer the non bloody version myself, for the same reason as Twelve and Rook, but I thought a bloody one would be a fun variant. I didn’t even think about how excessively syrupy it was until pointed out. Now I’m like damn, that is funny looking. Maybe I’ll try reworking the bloody version later.
Twelve: Killer Rolento, man. I think his head could be moved just a bit further forward. Right now it doesn’t quite look like it rests on his torso porperly.
HB: Nice job with the posing. Some of the brush strokes where it is going out of the lines look just a little odd, and a little unfinished. Great action and energy in the pic though.
Landel: Damn, that would be the toppest tier character ever. Nice job simplifying the musclature down to simple forms. Very effective.
DanSC: I seriously laughed out loud when I saw your pic. Very amusing pose, and completely unexpected. I think the facial features are just a bit askew, but then again, that kind of adds to he ridiculousness of the pose. Fun stuff. Pretty good Ken pic too. Watch your anatomy even if it is covered by clothes. It looks like his torso gets a little small under there.

Good job with the Gief. The blood coming out of his head is classic. Good job with the colors, considering you are mousing it. Good job with the anatomy too, although I think his fist got just a little squashed.

Here’s my first time drawing Zangief… I’ve never drawn so much muscles in my life… It seems unhealthy for a person to have such huge muscles… He’s a balloon!!!

that’s the most mellow Gief I’ve ever seen
nice detail on the boots, although his right arm lookskinda contorted – it doesn’t match the angle of his upper torso.
Yeah, I felt the musculature on mine was lacking. It’s based on Armstrong of FMA, for those not familiar with the series.
everybody doing well, great job guys…my second ken, doing the jump kick in the air, but it turn out look like he put one arm on the ground and throw his body in the air, like breakdancing…oh well

4Neqs: Lol, yeah, I totally missed the reference. I was just like “wow, Gief sure is shiny.” Looks like the anatomy could use some proportional exaggeration. Usually buff characters like Gief are drawn with smaller heads and stout, bulky bodies to make em look more massive.
Seba: Lol, Gief is posing all GQ and stuff. He looks like he’s giving me a come hither stare O_O Joking aside, it’s a solid drawing though, dood. I agree with Rook on the arm - the angle is just a bit odd. Looks like the structure of his torso is getting lost a bit behind his arms too, but not too much. For some reason I really dig the hand he has on his knee. Something about the subtle gesture of his ring finger being bent really pleases me. Good Stuff!
DanSC: Hehe, who knew Ken was so good at breakdancing? It’s actually a good kicking pose though. Really the only reason it looks like breakdancing instead is because or how the drawing is cropped. If it were up higher and his arm were bent slightly, it would be a fine lookin flying kick. Make sure to draw out the basic structure of a body before you add clothes on a character, so you get a good feel for the mass and how things connect. It doesn’t quite look like his left arm connects up to his torso.
Sooo, with all this anatomy talk lately I thought I might as well post this up in case it helps anyone. It’s a quick reference muscle chart I did a couple years back. It is by no means perfect, but it’s relatively accurate. It is also only a realistically proportioned skinnyish dude, and since we draw muscular hero type characters, it’ll be up to you how and where to exaggerate the muscles… But anyways, here’s mah drawing:
