Chaos Code - AOU exhibition with SEGA

Looks pretty nice. I’d be more than willing to give this game a shot, if they stick with the notion of getting a PC release.

This game looks fire as hell. Hikaru is Rock Howard X Kenshiro and shit mainly with that one super with the kicks. They need to go with Digital Download and hook this up for XBLA. But I’m impressed with what I’ve seen thus far though. Hopefully more info and vids drop so we can see more.

oh my bad. my blunt joke didn’t get the point across of “fuck MKV once CC hits” nod.

still…I hope the best for MKV.

Yeah…about that.

If I had any hope that this game was gonna be good (I had very little hope) then that video just ruined it.

yea Virginia is loop city. even with the “patch”. Game is ghetto.

Oh shit was that some B-Ball combo action? Count me in.

Thanks for the heads up on this game. Looks interesting. If I get a chance I would love to try it out.

By the way: Any info about what Arcade platform is running this game? or is a PC?

I ask because we are talking about Team FK… and im still impressed that this game is labeled as “Arcade” because of his TRUE GHETTO POVERTY donjon past.

Its site has just been updated. Now it has the Story and Character Profiles available.

cool. here’s my impression of the characters. maybe i’ll get around to translating the story/profiles when i’m not busy/lazy

Hikaru Otagi
kinda metro faggy looking protagonist he even has his midriff showing wtf. i bet you are op.

Kagari
female hakumen (blazblue) ?? maybe it’s really a guy… WHAT IF NOEL FOLLOWED JIN IN HIS FOOTSTEPS IN BECOMING HAKUMEN? i dont know but thats cool too

Catherine

Bravo Peperoncine
bro you are looking fabulous. it reads that you are an italian-chinese style chef?! looks like you got some mad wok skills yo

Cerberus Black
looking kind of cool there bro yet a little metro at the same time. maybe if your coat flapped in the opposite direction when you were doing that uppercut but now it just looks kind of pretentious

Hermes Gberardini
Are you some sort of european Litchi or Litchi in disguise? Girl, you are hot but I dig the original Litchi more with the oriental traits but that’s just because I’m biased towards Asian girls since I’m Asian and all…

Celia
i guess this kind of appeal is ok too so mai waifu doesnt get overplayed, i’ll tag you anyways. twintails cyborg? very_long_hair detached_sleeves hairband

Cait & Sith Whisker
personally I find brother&sister or brother&brother teams to be kind of creepy but at least it isn’t the latter. where’s the tail?

Vein
looking pretty gay there like that one dude from that shitty manga d.grayman except you look even gayer, i didn’t think that was possible. at least that guy was stylin’ in a hime cut or something you just look a gay prick son

Rui Mishima
i forget what this kind of weapon was called but that’s cool. lookin’ kinda butch in that screenshot though. the boots in the sprite art could use some more definition or something. thighhighs detached_sleevesnecktie boots zettai_ryouiki dual_wield short_hair short_twintails

Shit all of those were good.

She Weeaboo?

Female Gundam owns. Looks like she can throw those ninja stars.

Oh yeah, I think Rui’s weapons are called Tonfa? …and she’s a Mishima, she should have EWGF.

Cerberus Kagari and Rui get my vote as most interesting.

It’s arcade. At first, I thought it was going to be Taito X2 but I think it was listed as Naomi somewhere else. I need to check later.

EDIT: Nevermind, just ran a quick Google JP search and there still seems to be no detail about the hardware (despite the location already being over).

Chaos Code background story (in short)

Humankind has finally found a seemingly infinite source of energy, called “Chaotics”, which could not only alleviate the energy crisis, but has lead to rapid development of space-travelling technology. In theory, it might ensure mankind’s survival for all eternity, as it would grant the resources to find new inhabitable planets once the Earth no longer fits the bill.

However, the scientist who discovered Chaotics suddenly disappears, leaving behind naught but an enigmatic message: Chaos Code. The World Government Organization (United Nations?) made every effort to prevent this information from reaching the media, but eventually, the news leaked out.

To counteract the public uproar, the WGO/UN announced that a vast sum of money would be awarded to anyone capable of deciphering the meaning of the “Chaos Code” message and clarifying its relation to Chaotics.

Just what does “Chaos Code” mean?

The prize money is not the only incentive for pursuing this goal. Some desire to take control of Chaotics, others to stop it from falling into the government’s hands, and yet others join the Chaos Code tournament out of mere misconceptions.

Hikaru Otagi

An agent affiliated with the World Government Organization, Hikaru wishes to aid the unfortunate residents of the slums and help bring about peace. His orders are to eliminate Beni-Shuu (??, possibly Kurenai-Shuu; “Crimson Connection” may be an acceptable tentative translation) agent Kagari and secure the Chaos Code.

Kagari

Kagari lost her parents at an early age due to some sort of intervention from the World Government Organization, for which she now holds intense hatred. She was taken in and raised by the leader of the anti-WGO rebel organization Beni-Shuu and currently serves as one of the group’s operatives. She takes part in the tournament out of gratitude towards her foster father, as well as desire for revenge on her biological parents’ behalf.

Vein

At some point during Vein’s childhood, the WGO’s “intervention” caused the death of his parents. His older sister (most likely Kagari), who had always protected him, simply disappeared. A harsh, lonely life and the lingering pain of his sister’s supposed abandonment have brought Vein to the conclusion that this “egotistical” world is deserving of nothing but destruction.

Hermes Gerardini

Hermes was given special education for the exceptionally gifted by her strict parents. Her life suddenly changed when she by chance came across a book of sorcery in a library. From this grimoire, she learned to summon spirits (of the dead?). After running away from home, she was employed as an agent by the Beni-Shuu. While working undercover as an announcer (announcing what? the evening news and boxing rounds, perhaps, going by her outfit ^_^), she uses her newfound summoning abilities in her pursuit of the Chaos Code.

Celia

Celia looks for all the world like an ordinary (?) senior high school student with an interest in Gothic Lolita fashion. In truth, she is an android built by the scientist who developed Chaotics energy. In order to find the missing doctor, she seeks the truth behind the cryptic “Chaos Code” message he left behind.

Cerberus Black

Cerberus Black (“Sirius Black”, anyone?) is a treasure hunter who chases dreams as well as treasure. He uses a special kind of gun (?), and it is said that no target of his escapes. While searching for a way to save his partner, who has fallen foul of a curse, he heard rumours that suggested that the Chaos Code might enable this feat, and thus he now strives to possess it.

Cait & Sith Whisker

Cait Sith? Some companies seem to go out of their way to test copyright limits… The Whisker twins’ father (Cerberus’ partner) has been transformed into something by a curse, and they are looking for a way to reverse it. They suspect that his travel companion (= Cerberus) might have been the cause of dear old dad’s misfortune, and are therefore hot on his trail.

Rui Mishima

Rui was born in the countryside, but disliked her hometown and moved to the big city as soon as the opportunity presented itself. Upon hearing rumours that her hometown’s Shinto shrine had been auctioned away, she felt her past tug at her heart and set off to buy it back.

Catherine (Heihachi Katori)

Belying her (?) masculine real name, manga artist Catherine’s appearance and mannerisms are extraordinarily feminine. Under mysterious circumstances, Catherine acquired superhuman strength and miraculous abilities, and seeks the Chaos Code as a means of inspiration for further works. BTW, one Mishima and one Heihachi…

Bravo Peperoncine

The names, the names… World Heroes’ Muscle Power, Fight Fever’s Magic Dunker… Anyway, Bravo is an Italian chef who for some reason ended up mixing Italian and Chinese cooking. This original approach made his restaurant immensely popular; unfortunately, a thug saw fit to start a brawl in the establishment, apparently doing severe property damage in the process. Much like a certain couple of kung fu-kicking, Bruce-style yelling Chinese chefs with similarly silly names, Bravo has set his eyes on the Chaos Code tournament in hopes that the prize money will allow him to rebuild his eatery.

I bet Cathrine is a guy.
Even so, s(he) seems like quite a cool character both in design and concept. Cosplaying manga artist with special powers? I really am liking some of the character designs in this game.

Kagari is also mad awesome. Cyborg Ninjas always get my attention.

looks at Hermes

Ooh, summoning~

prepares to zone the fuck out of everyone

Also, I noticed that most of the the female character’s breasts in this game are shaped like rockets. Especially Hermes.

Hermes actually reminds me a lot more of Yoko (from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann) than Litchi. She even has that belt. I mean look http://bignanime.files.wordpress.com/2007/04/yoko.jpg

thanks for that analysis broski.
