I think SNK didn’t put healing in for the tag system because otherwise the fights would go on forever (like MvC2). The current system still yields strategies on when to tag in and out, like only bringing in your leader on a quick - shift to use their LDM, then tagging them back out after it’s done.
After thinking a bit more I realized I left out a few “fanboy” requests of my own:
MOTHERFUCKING ANDY BOGARD. I don’t care what the reason for him entering is, he has to be there. In fact, I think it would be awesome if SNK put joking references into his story for the game acknowledging that he’s there for no real reason other than fan demand.
Two Korean teams: Kim + sons, Jhun + Chang and Choi. Although I’ve never liked either Chang or Choi, I would like to see them further the dissent within the group that was teased in the Korean team’s 2K3 ending (where Choi was left off the team and basically forgotten about).
Put in Seth on the “Secret Agents” team, and give Mary a year’s rest.
Bring back Robert (2K3 version) and Takuma (2K2 version) to the AoF team, give King a year off for retooling (as she’s beyond stale), and put Yuri on some other team.
Take Ryo off the AoF team (storyline reason: getting married to King or something, I dunno), put in Marco from Garou.
It would make no storyline sense whatsoever, but a K9999 / Angel / X (new character?) “NESTS survivors” team to go against K’ and co. would be all kinds of hot.
Edit: Changed “Jae Hoon” in point #2 to “Jhun”, which is what I originally intended.
add rock and make the graphics not look shitty i mean damn you can see the pixels in whip’s whips skillzilla made a joke about maxima saying i can see all 3 frames in that move and he wasn’t joking
Ash says in the Rival team ending that he’s going after Kyo next, so I dunno why he would go after K’. Why get a copy when you can get the real thing?
I also agree with no healing of offsides characters. NGBC matches take FOREVER because of this, even if players manage to have perfectly-placed D-Assaults. XI matches already go to time quite often, so putting healing in would just be insane.
will they just gotta adjust some damage scaling for it.
Even though I dont like Nests a Nests aint a bad idea. And I like your korean team idea and Ryo being replaced with Butt. But not 2k3 Robert, we need 98 or NGBC Robert nad 98 Takuma not 2k2! And I’d rather Yuri be taken off a year, I’m quite bored of her. And yes we need Rock!
I’m not gonna worry about the graphics and storyline just yet, because I think SNKP will do the right thing considering their direction. The roster always make the changes that not everyone will like, but makes things interesting:
I agree with #1. I think Andy is a bit more major than SNKP gives him credit for. I would love to see him back again. Ditto with Leona, since the storyline remotely connects with her. I would also love to see the Korea Team reunited in some form just to see Jhun back. Character design and move set is too awesome to waste.
I also agree that some characters need to take a step down for a bit. I’m surprised that they took out KOF vets like King, Robert, Leona, Chang, Choi, and Mai from years past, yet Mary’s still there.
Ryo does need to leave the AOF Team, but I think he can go in a couple of directions. He could go the Garou route, but he can also make a possible Buriki One Team, which would REALLY be interesting.
If Eiji was thrown onto the “evil” AoF team, or just kept around for XII at all, I demand his sprite be redrawn, or more animation frames added. He was directly ripped from KOF '95! That’s the year before KOF animation became good ('96)! Anyways, that’s the only graphical request I’d have for the next game, everything else is fine.
Hmm…an evil AoF team of Kasumi, Eiji and Todo sounds really cool now that I think about it…
You know, the more I think about it, the more I wish teams consisted of 4 people and not 3. You’d still get to only use 3 for a match, but it makes it so much easier to arrange characters into storyline - coherent teams. I think that’s one of the reasons why 2001 is one of my favourite KOFs (behind XI and 98), because the roster and team setup was awesome and made so much sense. Ah well.
One last thought - from the Hero Team’s ending in XI Oswald really has no reason to be around next year. He got what he wanted from Ash (the drugs from Duo Lon and Lin’s clan), so he’s free to leave…unless he wants to continue his mini - rivalry with Shen.
The thing about for-hire guys like Oswald is that you can think of any excuse to keep them around. I wouldn’t be surprised if he shows up again next year since he wasn’t killed off and would just be on a different team. I would sure hate for such a cool design to go the one-year-only route.
Why would Ash go after K’? You get Kyo’s you get K’s powers too… I also want to finally see Yamazaki finally go berserk! Oh man but after XII the dream match is going to be SWEET!
