Change The Music For Marvel, CVS2, AND Third Strike

Uh…different people are going to have different opinions on what music is “good”. Do you have an idea of what genre of music you are looking for in particular? I’m sure if you narrow it down like that you would get a better response.

INFORCER - yeah man u should definitely go with music u enjoi…just use what u think sounds good and it should turn out aight…if not…make another custom…its not hard after the first time…

anyway i tried getting that 3in1 for that website everyone is going to and for some reason it was one the list for downloadable games…i dont know if anyone else has encountered this or maybe im just searching in the wrong area but some help would be kinda good so i can actually get the game and see how much of a good job toodles did on it…which im sure is a magnificient job to say the least…keep up the good work buddy:)

Has anyone tried the KOF 3 in 1? I saw it on suprnova, and now it’s gone.

Does anyone know a way to burn the selfboot without CDRWin and cdrecord? My Nero and Alcohol 120% work, but CDRWin only works with the built in ASPI drivers and will not burn the disc right.

The suprnova is off now

If Nero and Alcohol work then why would u need to use cdrwin??? :bluu: It’s garbage.

I don’t know how to burn the 4-second audio track separately in Nero. I made like 5 coasters. I tried mixed mode, but it wouldn’t allow me to put the audio.raw file in the compilation. My instructions are for CDRWin, so I’ve always used it… I’ve always been told Nero is a better program, but I’ve never really used it. I think WinXP SP 2 nuked my aspi layer. I reinstalled aspi, no help. HBO?

ive had the same prob…trying to load the audio.raw track in any other program wont work it seems…and cdrwin isnt compatible with alot of burners…most likely u wont find a way to get cdrwin to work for ur burner if it isnt working already…i dunno maybe someone else would know but for me i just moved on and forgot about doing it that way…just work with nsb’s then u can make them selfboot…its alot easier

Can I get a nsb 1st_read and ip files, put them in the data directory, and then run them thru a sb program? Finding nsbs will be a problem, I haven’t touched a boot disc or a nsb game in years.

first off what game are u trying to burn??? if its marvel then yes i have the nsb 1st_read for taht and i also have the 1st_read’s for 3s and cvs2 too…pm me on aim and ill get them to u next time im online…secondly all u need to do really after uve gotten the 1st_read is to remove the other one from the game and take the ip.bin out…then simply put the nsb 1stread in…should be that easy…then u make it selfboot…and burn it…happy hunting

Find a way to get cdrecord to work. ASPI layer problems are very common, and usually can be fixed by putting in a proper ASPI layer. Many links off google on how to do this. Just remember, you are going to need cdrecord in order to find out the LBA of the disc after the raw audio is burned (the ‘cdrecord -msinfo’ step). Run cdrecord -scanbus and see if it will find your cd-rw.

Guide about ASPI layer and using ForceASPI
Caveat: I have not following the directions on this page personally, so I dont vouch for its accuracy. But, really, it ain’t hard.

1st off, I got the 1st_read file from earlier in the thread, I’ll try that. Thanks.
2nd, I even tried ForceASPI. CDRWin just doesn’t wanna work. The rest of my burning progams work, CDRWin won’t work on my machine anymore. I think it’s SP2.

What would you suggestI use to make nsb to sb, so I can burn to Nero?

Sigh I notice you didn’t mention cdrecord didn’t work. Did you try it?

Actually, I mentioned it in my first post. I know how to use it, It doesn’t work either. No scanbus, no msinfo, no burn, no anything. I’ve been using the Echelon kit since it came out. I jut never needed an alternative. The only change I can think of is trying WINXP SP2. Truthfully, I really don’t want to have to go back, everything else is really good (especially the new built-in Pop-Up Blocker).

So basically, is there a simple way to assemble a selfboot game without the Echelon toolbox method? I have spent all day toying with ASPI. Everything else works, don’t know what to do.

I think a tutorial would be real kool It would be real helpful for me and whoever else is interested. I would like to make one like u did but instead of a 3 in 1 I would just make it for MvC2 and being able to pick different mixes since i play this game the most but still a tutorial would be awsome.

TripleAgent : Only other option I know of is to use bin2boot. Never used it personally, so I cant be any help with its use.

For getting multiple games on a cd, the best source, the one I learned from is a thread on fileforums.com:
HERE

For linking files (two or more different files, identical contents, in different directories, taking up only the space of one file) I wont do a tutorial for. It may be possible in Windows, but I don’t know how. I had to use linux to pull it off. For those with good linux experience who want to know, its easy. If two files are hard linked (NOT symlinked), mkisofs will automatically make them linked in the ISO. That’s all I have to say about that.

Anyone know how to get a bin file out of a sb game? Thanks,

k I have two parts to my problem.

I’ve gotten to the end of burning a custom RM mvc2 cd.

in the middle of the process, when you input

"mkisofs -C x,y -V ECHELON -l -o data.iso data "

I ended up needing to omit the -1 after the echelon and before the -o (tho I acutally used something that began w/ a g instead of echelon…) for some reason it worked.

the next problem was after the final burn, I get an error at the end that says this:

“Error: ‘WRITE’ command failed on device 1:0:0
Illegal command request (04h 00 02h 05h 63h 00h)”

I also ended up having to upgrade my cdrwin to the latest version cuz the one I got initially wasnt detecting my burning drivers… if that makes a difference

man cdrwin is shit…dont use it…i did that whole selfboot deal too once where i also used a different word instead of echelon…i guess it worked but i never burned the image becausse i too couldnt get cdrwin to be compatible with my burner…just try another proggie but i dont know what to tell u about the whole echelon deal because i just leave my games as nsb’s…sorry

Explain…

I am fairly sure on how to make a sb nsb… I want to use bin2boot to make them sb again after I change music, so I guess I need to know how to get the files into bin format after I replace the adx files. I heard you can just change the iso extention to .bin, but I’m not sure at all.
