Who is an ideal partner for Cerebella? I was looking at Painwheel and Ms. Fortune but I just got this game today and I have no clue what to choose.
- You don’t really need a team to play. You can go solo.
- Pick whoever looks interesting and fun to you. They all can work together in one way or another; find what works for you.
Thanks
i defo think bella needs a GTFO me assist. since she doesnt deal well with relentless pressure considering her devil horns move is a bit picky to say the least. you need to be really good at blocking to make solobella work against rushdown teams backed with lockdown assists.
im eventually gonna pair up fortune and bella myself at some point, but fortunes assists are rather weak. i think her LK fiber upper would be the best of her specials for its Invincibilty frames. i have been considering the idea of using one of her normals for an assist as well though.
i discovered today that her cr.HK hits low both times, and is not actually a real blockstring either. i was actually able to land a 360 grab in between the hits of the cr.HK although the timing seems so incredibly tight i cant see it will be super practical.
What?
Run stop is amazing.
Run stop loop, Using BT as an anti air, using kanchou as an anti air, Run Stop 360, Pummel Horse is and OVERHEAD ANTI AIR THROW, command run is great to keep on pressure after someone pushblocks you.
Not to mention run stop loop at the end of a combo into reset.
And if someone pushblocks and presses a button afterwords, Pummel Horse will catch them.
I have Bella backed up with Napalm Pillar, it makes her so much better offensively and defensively… plus Ceracopter is a fuckin amazing assist for Parasoul and Painwheel, shit’s not even funny.
But yeah she can run solo and still be a threat thanks to her retarded damage.
Like I said, I can’t use run-stop loops: I have fine motor skill issues. Battle Toads is really bad on block, and even in the air I get punished if it’s blocked. Kanchou never works for me when they are in the air. There’s no need to stop, you can cancel the run into 360 anyway. I don’t know how to use Pummel Horse as an AA: I try, but I either miss or get hit. I’ve never thought to use the run after getting pushblocked before…
So either we are playing an entire different world of people, or I’m really not grasping the situational uses of the move. I have this ominous feeling that it’s the latter.
Oh, on a side note, I use BT as a counter-type move sometimes. Like, block and the second they do something forward hk-hk. It feels so awesome to instantly soak up that attack and smash em back. Works really well on Parasoul, when she’s doing that combo she does. If you block all of it and she throws out a tear even though you blocked, you can BT it.
I actually just got an idea while reading about CR, but run stop after HK(1) could be really good for resets when backed up with an assist. You get overhead, low, command throw, normal throw, anti-air throws, j.HK jump ins, empty jumps…
Obviously I don’t think it would be very good as a solo character, but it could be potentially great when backed up by an assist like Hornet Bomber, Hairball, Painwheel’s cr.MP, etc.
ggs to you earlier zid. thought it was quite funny that my connection dropped right after that match ended. made it look like a salty ragequit. i was gonna finish anyway after that match it seemed like you had me figured out pretty well in the last bunch of games, plus by that point the lag was driving me crazy as well i was dropping literally everything.
the reset you kept doing after cr.MK was fucking me up a lot as well, i didnt know which way to block either the jump over HK or the delayed cr.HP, so i may have to steal that from you as well lol.
also were you mashing out of the stun during my BnBs? a few times you got out of it which i didnt think was possible, and i have never seen anyone mash out of it before, but again it could have been down to lag as well i wasnt able to get it off fast enough.
there was some real weird shit going on as well in those matches (Diamond Drop vs Ultimate Show Stopper and both of them whiffing point blank) its pretty funny as well how canceling titan knuckle into merry go counts as an actual combo as well. my internet has been iffy a lot so hopefully its better when we play next.
Nah, I knew it wasn’t a ragequit. I could tell by how you were playing, you weren’t getting frustrated (not Ragequit frustrated, at least). I was going to qit as well, I was only supposed to play ten matches… I ended up late for something I had to do.
Go ahead, take it! I’d love to see more people using it. You did it to me once, I was like There’s also another, secret reset I have. I kept trying to get it, but it has to do with the delayed c.hp. I got one part of it that I was trying (there are three things that can be done), when you landed on the other side and got grabbed with DD (I only used the move twice, you should remember). Soon as I finish that reset video I’ll post it.
Yeah, after a while I started shaking it off. I forgot that could be done.
Did you catch that moment where you were comboing, you dropped it and I used lvl 3, and the IPS sparks went off? What was that about? I don’t know if it would have happened, but I wonder if I hit a button would it have canceled the super for the burst animation?
no i dont recall that bit tbh, i guess it happened pretty fast or something but there was a lot of crazy WTF moments and awesome comebacks going on in those matches so its hard to remember everything ha ha.
i defo think i need to stay on the ground more than i do currently. i dont think i ever managed to block any of the kanchous you did. times i empty jumped at you hoping to bait the battletoads and you did kanchou instead and crossed me up lol. i know you caught on to my tick throw attempts pretty early on as well, but every time i went for AA grab instead you stayed on the ground instead of jumping. using st.HK after a blocked level 3 is very clever as well since it catches jumpback.
Ah well. I’ll probably never see it again, though, cause I have no idea how it happened.
Hmm… no, now that I think about it, you didn’t. I try to wait until late in the run to do whatever, to see if they want to attack or whatever, that’s probably why.
Yeah, I have no idea why I wasn’t falling for those. I remember punishing/avoiding most of your command grab resets… and for some reason avoiding the AA ones. I don’t know how I never got caught by either after a certain point.
About the s.hk. I had never thought to do it before you. I usually do Kanchou or MGR, but you started jumping. I remembered that s.hk likes to hit people in the air, so I tried it, and it worked really well. Actually, I learn a lot by accident… the j.hk I crossup-reset was accidentally learned because I was fighting a laggy Bella, and my j.mp got dropped (for the restand), and I ended up kicking her in the back of the head. So… awesome accident. Can’t imagine my Bella without it.
yea because i do that myself as well lol so i knew there was a good chance you would probs go for a MGR too since the range is perfect and you recover super fast from it.
Cerebella reminds me of Mystique Sonia of Hero:108
Hello, I have 2 questions if I may ask
- How do I do the move when Cerebella spins her arms? I did it randomly but I don’t know the inputs.
- What combo should I use after I do a normal throw? (the one where the opponent lands about a dashes distance)
- there are two possible moves you are talking about. srk HP, or qcf two punches.
- you can only do combos from that in the corner. You should experiment on your own to see what you like.
Also, was it known that, in the corner, you can combo a Kanchou after a c.mk?
Thank you, for the first one I was talking about cerecopter but I found it =P
So you can only do combos in the corner, that’s interesting I guess.
she has midscreen combos from a variety of starters, just not regular throw or diamond drop
it’s just that her damage output skyrockets in the corner
yea i noticed you did that to me a couple times today
may have to have a mess about with that myself. could get a whole load of extra damage to my current BnB.
