I do kinda miss banana-bella but I’m going with harlequin for now.

Yooooo… Anyone else excited for the update? I think this will boost a lot of what Cerebella can do. She didn’t really get buffs (A few minor ones), but the change to IPS combined with 120% damage to assists (Solo bella + lvl 3 + 2 hit followup vs 3 man team = dead assist) and her natural superior damage for normals has got me excited. I’ll have to completely change ALL of my bnb’s because of the IPS, no more c.lk, c.mk, j.mp, j.hk, s.mp, c.mp… for me (Unless I’m mistaken), but still.

pretty sure my bnbs are untouched, but I still need to find a midscreen one that I like.

Most of my combos are untouched, but a main part of all of them was the c.lk, c.mk, j.mp, j.hk, s.mp, c.mp… I really like it, but I’m going to have to learn to not hit that s.mp. I think I need to swap it out for s.mk, and that should keep everything else, for the most part, intact. Damn, I wish I could hit j.mk after c.mk.

You mean her Pink/Black Palette? I call that Hitmanbella (or Bretebella.)

I think that’s one of her weaknesses, not having a mid-screen BnB that leads into her Blockbuster.

@The sure fire gamer, after the standing strong, you can do any super she has.

One of the changes mentioned was the distance between characters after a pummel horse, that it currently sometimes goes too far and that will be fixed. I’m hoping that will open up c.MP after pummel horse reliably midscreen.

erm, yes she does. use lock n load L into DD.

She has plenty of combos for midscreen, including ones that end in blockbuster. What I’m hoping to find is a good mix of damage, reliability on all characters, and the option to go for multiple resets or blockbusters. Oh, and corner carry.

she has good midscreen combos, its just that if you want to get decent damage you usually have to sacrifice the OTG pretty early so even if you get to the corner you wont get that much more damage

ggs to zidiane who ive finally gotten to play against just now. shame the lag was really bad sometimes i dont remember it being that bad on the 3 matches we played the other day. i am definatly going to be using that crossover reset you do with cr.MK and kicking them in the back of the head. i was never ready for it hence i think you hit me with it every time. i think it could be particularly good in the corner since you cant normally cross people up in the corner, and then do a quick run stop into diamond drop to throw them back into the corner again.

hhmmmm… thats my next training mode session sorted i think!

Anyone else upset by Command Run? It’s really useful for run-stop loops apparently (my fingers can’t move like that in order to preform it), and maybe for pointblank Kanchou’s if you time them right, but most other areas it seems weak. The following words are for Bella on her own only, no assists. I don’t use them, thus can’t know enough about them to talk.

I posted about this all in the Tier List discussion, and have since been thinking about it nonstop. Everything she can do from Command Run can be beaten by holding up-back. Everything, Battle Toads, Kanchou, Pummel Horse, Showstopper. You all probably know already, but Kanchou rarely hits airborne opponents, even when the hand clearly connects and really should send them flying. Pummel Horse will become useless as well, because there’s no reason for anyone to block low during a CR. Maybe, and I wouldn’t be able to pull it off, if you did clk, combo, run-stop, c.lk, combo, Pummel Horse? But, aside from that, there is never a legit reason for them to crouch when you start the run. Unless maybe they are trying to trip you to cancel the run, which I think low hits hit Pummel Horse as well.

But about Kanchou, is it supposed to miss like it does? Is it a misplaced hitbox, or is it just really not supposed to hit people in the at all?

As solo Bella I don’t think it’s completely useless, just not as useful as with an assist. It’s true that up back defends against the mixup from command run, but it gives up positioning as a result. I personally still catch people sometimes with the mixup. If they are always chickening out, I would suggest using the stop to put yourself at neutral again after claiming some ground, once they’re feeling cornered, their behavior should change or you can open them up with other methods.

Oh, people haven’t been doing it to me. I was just thinking ahead, trying to find a solution before it becomes a problem for me, as I don’t think I’m going to be using a second character any time soon.
