So I finally got in to talk to the guy, Brett, over here at the Comic Store West in York. He is interested in starting to have some kind of monthly FG tourney.
He has an area that is a decent size, not huge, but decent. (Had 45 man Pokemon card games in the area.) There is 3 double outlets across the one wall and he said there is power in the back room that can be ran out to the area. I feel this should be enough power, if we use power strips, to get something going. There are like 6 or seven big banquet tables in the area that we could set up in a way that could work for us.
The only down side is how we plan on procuring the systems and TVs to play on. He stated about giving discounts to people who bring systems and TVs. Also he has to see if he could fit such a thing into his schedule there and it is looking like a Saturday in January sometime.
I am not to sure on the prizes yet, but he seems like he wanted to include one. Not money as that is a form of gambling in PA. He would also like to do it for some kind of charity, which I feel is awesome.
He already has an idea for how the bracket could be run and has software for this kind of things as well!
This is all the information I have on this as of right now. He is supposed to be in contact with me once he has a date and time for the event.
