Floyd (Trampy) & the boys…vgg’s to y’all in MvC2 & T5. I really like the arcade a lot & honestly if they added 3S it would just be way too good, giving more Indiana players a reason to visit regularly. But don’t get me wrong, it’s darn good the way it is right now. It certainly blows the Fort Wayne Putt-Putt away. We have what I guess I’d call an average or slightly above-average arcade.
Anyway, I had lots of fun & I had a good time meeting the gang. Sorry I couldn’t be better competition in those two games but as you know those really aren’t what I play hardly ever, but I hope I was decent enough comp to make you guys feel challenged & work for your wins.
BTW Floyd, I’m sorry, but I gotta scratch you off my list…the “my Amingo killed your Magneto” list that just keeps growing. It’s for real. Amingo is a Magneto killer! Juicy G is next, I swear it! So far Dereklearnslow is my most famous victim. I know he gets tired me talking about it but I’m proud. Haha. 
Finally, just remember to keep in touch on here. We got some cool stuff going on in our state as far as get-togethers & tournaments go. Send a private message to WKDCLWN & post in the Fort Wayne thread. If you feel like making the drive, you & the crew will love his gaming parties. I’m sure he’ll announce one in May or June. Also Ghettoontherise has some tournaments in Bloomington (you’ll want to play Nunes, he’s tough stuff at Marvel). He’s due for another tournament kinda soon as well.

Sup fellow Purdue gamers!
I am a hardcore FG fan and I will be entering Purdue this upcoming August. I love all FG games, but I am mostly an SC3 player. I’ve dabbled in GGXX and T5. I really would like to learn VF4 as well, but nobody seems to play that.
Seems like you guys have a solid 3S community. I would be really interested in learning that as well. MVC2 is game for me as well. So yeah…basically I am willing to play any FG game as long as there is a solid community for it.
As for which char’s I use in each game, let me give you a brief intro:
SC3: Ivy
GGXX: Eddie
T5: Devil Jin, Feng
I still have a lot to learn for GGXX and T5, but SC3 I think I should be able to give some good competition. Look forward to meeting you all! 
Floyd, you still look on here? I read from someone on Tekken Zaibatsu that a couple of guys are trying to talk to management to get a Tekken tournament at Circle Centre sometime soon. That Paul player at Tekken (his name is Brent I think) is one of them, and someone else.
Anyway, if that’s the case you know you need to have an MvC2 tournament, and please, talk them into getting 3S back into play, even if it’s only for one day, to have a tournament. I’m sure MvC2 & 3S could draw big crowds.
If y’all could get them to have some Capcom tournaments I’d try to come and I’m sure a few others that I know in our state would come, but if it’s only Tekken I don’t think I’d come. It would give me a reason to come visit you guys again (there would be extra MvC2 players around for the Tekken tournament I bet) but overall I’m obviously not excited about just a Tekken tournament.
At least try to make it happen.
Welcome! I hope to see ya once the school year starts and I am able to attend some of these gatherings. I have been doing some training on my own for a bit, though I have hit a little snag since my joystick has gone wonky and I don’t have the money to replace the parts :sad: .
As far as my situation goes, I have been trying to find some people to fight against since I have been here. But everyone seems to be in their own little clique with very little hope of any sort of committed gathering like I have seen in Indiana. I have also been ignored on their forums since they are quite jaded to new people due to the efforts given there.
Things seem to be shaping up as there is some interest in getting more people together. If I had my own place, I would try to host one myself and show them how it’s done!

I am completely new to the Midwest scene as I started in central PA and have been mostly traveling to tournaments for SC along the EC. Do you guys session with the Chicago people? They have a solid FG community there as I’m sure you guys are aware of.
Btw, are there any projector rooms or somethin’ we can use at Purdue? I graduated from Bucknell University and we used to play in the classrooms with the large projectors. Now that’s a gaming experience!
Yeah, what’s worse is that we are in a concentrated area, lol. I’ll do what I can with my resources. I’d be willing to travel a bit for some fun but since I don’t have a job yet, I gotta conserve on gas.
There are projectors in the classrooms, though they aren’t the best of quality when it comes to picture and sound. Usually, you can get an open room if you get there at the right time though. If need be, there is someone that I can ask about reserving rooms as long as this is planned weeks in advance.
we hook up with ft wayne, indi, and iu ppl most of the time. Those guys are beastly in MVC2, and 3s. As for SC3, ur prob not gonna find much challenge here, I used to play SC2 religiously until they fucked it up with Glitch Calibur 3, but I def no noob, so at least will give u some sort of challenge. other than that, there’s like one person here that plays SC3 all the time, while the rest of us just plays it like SC2. Now for GG/, we’re all about the same level here, altho Jon tends to pwn the rest of us alittle more than usual. but my aim is ycwang2001, and my cell is 765-532-2248. let me know when u get up on campus, so we can get the crew together for some gaming.:rock:
oh yeah, chris, do u know any way to rename this thread by putting Purdue in the thread name? i think we mite be able to attract more players that way. anyways, just a thought.

Hey, Abe is looking to host another big party in the later half of June, probably on a Friday this time to help accommodate one of our buddies Tim (he went to your first Purdue gathering).
Anyway, let us know well in advance if y’all are having another big throw down and I’ll try to come and see if I can get some other Fort Wayne and maybe IU folks to join in. You know me, my best stuff is SSF2T and 3S. I’m nothing at MvC2, you boys just overrate me. Haha. However I will say I’m playing some SC3 now. No, I still don’t have the game to play at home, but our Putt-Putt arcade got the arcade edition recently and I’m already throwing down on some local fools. Be ready, weenies. :wgrin:
Hsiangsta - Hey, I think I saw you post over on Zaibatsu. I go by the name ankle biter on there. Tell those dummies at Circle Centre that a Tekken tournament alone won’t cut it. They should be real and add MvC2 and put 3S back in it’s rightful place for a tournament. Or hell, let us bring a PS2 in and we can play both games on the Annivery Collection. :badboy:

Brent is right, right now I am letting everyone vote on when they want the next party to be out of three dates…can’t think of em right this moment, but just check the Ft Wayne thread for the info. You guys are more than welcome to show up, and crash if you don’t mind the floor or the couch. Believe it or not, we have probably got the best arcade in the state right here in my home town of New Haven.
I have to work every other weekend guaranteed, so not that many days to pick from in June. But it is my birthday and I wanna celebrate by getting the tar whuuped out of my Hugo:wonder:
But part of the reason I am posting in here is to ask a question.
I saw someone say that SC3 is really glitched. What is this about? I was always under the assumption that that series was one of the most balanced games around.
I tried to rename the thread via the edit function, but all it did was change the name of the individual post. I guess a new thread would be in order if the name was to be changed.
SC3 is a glitchy game. I didn’t like it at first, but the more I played it the more I started to like it.
I still prefer SC2 over SC3, but it’s hard to go back now. I played SC2 extensively as well so if any old schoolers at Purdue are up for that, I wouldn’t mind bustin’ out the ol’ Ivy for some good nostalgic fun.
I would love to learn all these 2D FG games as most of my experience is only in 3D.
I’m flying out of the US for the summer and returning in early August. Hope some of you will be 'round then.
