Hey rotendo you know someone who makes avatars that I can use on here?
Does anyone want Battefield 2, Battlefield 2142, Oblivion for the PC. I will let them all go for like 5 to 10 dollars. I just don’t play those anymore. Anyways, what is the time for the ranbat Rotendo?
- You all bring snacks and such… wifey not buying Pizza again, lol.
Ok I have finally found my Rog-Defense (kinda 2, if I can use Gief Better), So I definitely need to go at it again Sean!!!
On a side note, I finally got around to burning Blazblue, and now im playing with Ragna (because of the ominous comparison to Sol-Badguy lol) and its growing on me. Coincidentally KOFXII Just finished so I am gonna burn that and see why no one likes it… I swear, I am like one of the last KOF Fans left…
Your rog defense? what is that by chance? and you said Gief if you can use him better? if you can please elaborate as to why you believe your rog defense is such. Also if you do not mind elaborate also on the gief vs rog fight and why you believe he is a defense or shall i say counter, cause i think thats what you really mean.
try not to theorize too much tho…
I am glad you ask Wise Sensei (no sarcasm, and yes I do mean Counter in this sense)!
Playing against Sean last night gave me a definite idea… Seans Balrog is by no means laughable, in fact he is quite an up and coming beast! But I have seen alot of moves that Balrog does that are not combos, but so much as “Safe” moves… Gief has a better advantage with his throw range, and power. An Example would be Balrogs Dashing Punch into Overhead, once blocked, Gief can hit the Ultra, and leave Balrog with no defense to escape it, and a True Gief player is instinctive with it. I thought of this after watching a youtube video of Balrog beating on Gief (). Gief couldve not wasted time with those combos, and spent them on throws… Sure Gief has some nice combos, but the average up-and-comer (me) will use Giefs strengths, which are his throws. Balrog can also be thrown out of almost anything, including his ultra with command throws… Now I need more practice and training because this is still all theory, although i tried to keep it to a minimum lol.
I c… well lets talk more about the gief shall we? this match is rated 7 3 in giefs favor but i say differently. balrog can actually be thrown OUT of EX specials not his normal specials. yes gief can punish rog on just about all of rogs specials. but I would want you to think about is that rog’s specials when done by an above average rog player will not be done within this throw range hence the specials become safe because A. rog will be too far to punish and B. rog can and should “if he is smart” back dash after the special. this is done to reset the space and get out of arms way if u think u fudged the spacing.
Now as far as the normals or pokes goes, it boils down to this. geif has 1 move that can really hit all of rogs pokes but rog also has 3 that he can use against gief 1 of which will damn near stop most of giefs moves. I want you to think about this for a bit and then look at the match again. afterwhich get back with me :).
I urge other players to partake in this discussion as this helps to breed knowledge about the game and various match ups.
I have noticed that the only real poking chance that gief has is his crouching jab, as everything else is really useless, however, why poke with Gief? I also agree with the 7-3 gief not being really right, as a good rog player usually back dashes after most of those, but now with that, Giefs EX fullcircle-K throw that chases you, unless you are going into a TAP, I still don’t see too much of a defense after a throw. I also see what you mean about the normal moves not being thrown out of with the exception of a quick reaction throw with someone pulling a TAP… That one I am (almost) on point with getting people online now, however I am not trying to be a good online player anymore, im trying to be EVO Worthy, so I need to practice this on you guys lol. I will take head to your advice and teachings, and keep on practicing.
On a side note, KOF XII is a good game, although I see why many don’t like it. Glad I didn’t pay 50 dollars for it as I wouldve been angry… Good ol Modded Xbox!. LOL@ Jin Fuha from AOF3 as an announcer in the news on KOFXII.
Do you guys at least see the advantage of the matchup? Zangief at least has 5.5-4.5 or 6-4 advantage. 5.5 advantage is my opinion. 6-4 advantage is from Street Fighter dojo.
I am almost ready to quit SF in favor of Tekken… Although SF Is my favorite game, I don’t see myself progressing at a level like the rest of you. Pat has definitely gotten stronger, his Ryu is definitely beast, Sean’s Rog is getting close to Ray’s GDLK Rog, Gavin’s command of the Cast, hell Chris’s Ryu has definitely gotten stronger… Maybe I need to sit down with my old crew in Philly next week and really get in some Serious training, but I am definitely disheartened right now…
giefs c.jab gets beat by rog. giefs s.mp cleanly stuffs most of rogs moves. his s.hk is also good and c.mk is good to whiff and grab afterwards… i will play u on sunday and see what u have learned. the reason why i point out the pokes is because “footsies” are going to have to be on point with gief if u intend to get in. remember the object is for rog to not get thrown. the best way is to zone gief hence footsies are needed to accomplish this effectively.
do not be disheartened. learn from this and make yourself stronger. every loss comes with a lesson, if you cannot see or learn that lesson then you will not improve.
Power without perception is useless and therefore of no true value, what do you perceive?
if ray’s rog is gdlk what is mine? just curious…
i just want to point out that last night i was intoxicated and managed to command throw someones dash punch w/ gief. on drunken reaction. also gief can armor ultra a dash punch.lol
dont know if yall have mentioned those yet cuz you girls write alot and i didnt read none of it
maybe 6 4 in giefs favor is what i see it. but one could argue 5.5 4.5
Versus Billy:
Well… let me start off with some of the things you did good. Your execution after the f+fp got a little better, but if I were you, I would not try that link too much unless you learn how to p-link, and double tap. Your anti-air is a little more consistent than before; which led you to free ultras. Now let me get to the bad things. STOP jumping so damn much. How many times do I have to anti-air you before you realize that, now don’t get me wrong, it’s ok to jump sometimes, but I thought we were playing Marvel Vs Capcom 2 with the amount of jumping you were doing. ***STOP ***jumping in the air using medium punch and option selecting Dragon Punch, it works sometimes, but you did it everytime, which is unacceptable, you have to mix it up. STOP doing random ultras, once I block them or they whiff, I have all the time in the world to punish with whatever type of combo I want. Stop mashing c.mk during your opponents block strings, because eventually your opponent will realize that like I did, and can purposly stop their own block string and get a freeeeeeeeeeeeeee reversal. Learn what a block string is and create your own and mix it up with throws, and deep well timed cross ups. Stop using c.rh all the time because it leaves you negative on block. STOP walking up and focus attacking all the time, it’s ok sometimes, but using it possessively will get you HEAVILY punished, but if you must use focus attacks so much then do what I do, use it to bait people and dash back. Also when I switch to another character, that does not mean start doing all the things you couldn’t do because I’m not playing with Ryu. I can’t try to increase my skill with another character Vs you guys because I teach you bad habits, but once I learn the rest of my characters then you won’t be able to do certain things no matter what.
Versus Jacob:
I don’t feel like writing another long paragraph, so let me put it nice and easy for you. Stop jumping so much, learn block strings, learn match ups.
ill go for 6-4 gief against rog,
@ShinRukus/Billy
ive been playin kazuya lately, he can still (ewgf) punish -13f on block
but its hard as fuck hahaha :mad::mad:
@ Gavin - I got ya bro, and Your whole cast is GDLK…
@ Pat, I get you, its like you said before with me taking so many risks, especially with my j+mp… but I will take heed to your advice, and practice much more. I am still not playing online until after I return from Philly, as I definitely need to get back with Goro and Jack in Philly, and use the advice I am getting from you and Gavin.
@Sargonas, what I have learned with the EWGF, is not only the frame advantage, but the distance required is significantly different… not only that, but once you ewgf/wgf and use the db+2 elbow to bring into a bounce combo chance, you can bring back up with 3 into 2xwgf/3xewgf. The average fighter isn’t gonna use 3xewgf’s, but ewgf, 1, db+2, 3, wgfx2 is a 74, or even my usual combo is a 72 (the one that ends with df+3,2,1). Thats a serious combo for someone rising with 4… its almost better to just rise with 3 and chance the parry as the parry will automatically leave you at bounce chance. But I am 80% now with the standing 4 block to ewgf, or usually wgf… this is why I can’t wait to play momo as his Paul will be the perfect person to try these theories on.
Zangief vs Balrog matchup… a strong 5.5/4.5 ~ weak 6/4 Gief>Rog 7 days out the week.
Before the missus and I get cozy to watch some Family Guy, I’ll be on either PSN/XBL on SF/MvC2/Tekken/Other so kindly send msg if you want some quick matches. Thanks
Oh, and Happy New Years!
I ended 2009 by getting destroyed by Demarcus. Didn’t even stand a chance.
Happy New Year, now go home and be a family man!
