what is the use of a capture card if it isn’t on PC? I got a cam and can upload all the vids straight to youtube. Oh… and people still use caption cards?

- Yes they do still use capture cards for HQ recordings.
Don’t tell its the one bought from RadioShack or Wal-Mart, please! I’ve seen those… hell, I use to own one of those USB video caption device… pure garbage! Nothing beats an actual PCI ATI capture card. USB you have to worry about the speed it is being recorded and transfer data getting sent via USB 1.1 or 2.0/firewire

They are teaching you guys this sort of thing in HS/college. We didn’t have any type of classes like those when I went to school. Everything was self taught.
What recording software are you all using?Editing? Premiere?

USB cards aren’t terrible, get a firewire or usb 2.0 your set, and no i’m not saying anything else isn’t HQ.
Honestly I’ve never taken any classes for any of this I know, Photoshop/Video Editing and Video Management, I teach myself.
And I use Premiere And Photoshop mostly for my editing, Premiere for the edits and Photoshop for all single frame edits. I use AE for 3d work only mostly.

Wow. ( rubs eyes ) it’s like 6:37 am and i am so wanting some comp but like Gavin and Ian and a few others tell me…practice practice practice…i dont get enough of it in me to accept where i am…i continue to think i am a casual player but eh…oh wells…i read the post from the past 6 pages. Man. I’m glad we are really starting the Ranbats now. It is gonna help us out alot and with Gavin being our experted player from his experience he gives good tips. He is right about how he gets beat over and over and over from those guys and if they dont like play against you they wont even try and talk to you. For instance. Hsien from Austin. One of the best Akuma 3s players i have ever played. I remember playing 10 times in arow. He got up and walked away from the machine cause noone else was playing. I tried to shake his hand and he kept walking. I felt worthless but then i had a good teacher or teachers. Phil and Aric. They brought me back into the light and taught me things like Gavin is.
Right now i dont know where my Ryu stands but everyone says my Ryu is picking his game back up and i am liking that encouragement. I think we should all apprciate the help we give each other. Weather it be a little or alot but that’s just me. Pat i know i got you into SF and i see you improved WAY better then me in SF4 but ya gotta see that alot of the other people that play like steve and sean and myself are old school players. We are still trying to get the grasp of the game play of SF4 thus is the reason we are training with all you guys to get better.
I know i am not the best player in K-town but i lose and i learn and i love it. It brings me back for more and it brings me into the game thinking what can i do to beat my opponent down. How can i do this to keep me safe and what not. Some others grasp the game better then i can…even tho i have been told i learn fast and apply what i learn quick but i dont think it sticks to me that well. lol knowing how i love playing Modern Warfare 2, Tekken 6 and Forza 3.
I tell ya one thing tho. I really really love the competition. Granted i get pissed when i get taughted by billy and he hits me with random shoryu’s or when sean sweeps me balrog or even when Ray plays turtle balrog and i have a hard time getting thru. i thin about my mistakes and try and fight thru it and see what i can and can’t do.
So much to learn so little time. Ranbats to big tourneys. The way i see it. Live it, learn it, absorb it, apply it and win it. That’s all you can do. Learning is the best thing in life and applying it is even better. Hehe i sound all mushy and crap ahh well.
One thing i like about K-town brawlers is the fact that we actually have each others back and we encourage each other. Example when we were at the tourney. Even tho i lost i looked at it as a winning situation. I got a learning experience to get better and the best thing of all. I had my friends back me all the way to the end and with that we back each other cause we were all behind ray when he was the last in our little crew but still we still came out with smiles and encouragement for each other.
On that note…What time are we gamin today. I’m gonna give gavin a call about 1 to see if we can have a training session in. Same with Ian since his brother is comin to town. I want to learn more and apply it. Like i said i may not be the best in the crew but i want to be able to leave K-Town go to a bigger city with better players and own them and them comin to me. " Where were you from. " and i will proudly say. " Killeen. Where some of the best players in the world are. " lol might be exaggeration but i enjoy battling everyone! Also since you are up surf youtube, look for ryu matches from daigo, poonko and valle. valle probably being the best to watch firts you can see how he handles alot of characters. then upgrade to poonko and daigo perferably daigo. u dont have to be able to pull off the godlike reactions that they have lol but you can see how they fight the matchups. how they space it shit like that etc… part of learning is doing research and i my friend do a shit load of it. watch hours upon hours of footage and then double that shit practicing. if you wanna break top 10 bro top 8 now i believe then u gotta do what the top 8 are doing and then some.
and then after u do all that then u and scrape up K town then u need to take shit on the road to UFO and see if it sticks. play some advanced players play some tricksters and clean up your game make that shit tighter.
