Well let me run this down for you. I was using the Turbo buttons on my TE stick:
I set B and and backdash to Turbo and set Bible to down B…Then I held down and the other two buttons >.>
By comparison this method leveled Kunai, Knife, Shuriken, and Paper Airplane extremely quick (bout 3-4 runs a piece). The same method did dick all for Bible, I also tried manually canceling it to slow it down. Same speed just died less from the astral ring. Eventually I just said hell all I set the Bible to B put my DS on top of the button and walked off lol.
The Turbo backdash cancel method doesn’t really work for the sub-weapons that stay on screen. The Regular Backdash cancel makes it faster but not by enough. Setting the B button to Turbo and watching youtube is win though. Just be sure to have a paperweight handy.

I just got a Berserkers Mail I think I can honestly say
Broken Tier: Alucard - Yasatsunax2 and Berserkers Mail.
I mean I think Stabby said it best with Val/Yasu being the absolute top tier but until Dracula stops being a bitch and gives me a second Val. Alucard is the most broken thing I have ever seen in this game. I’ve seen Charlotte with infinite MP, I’ve seen Jonathan played his best with close to maxed sub weapons. I’ve been in games with maxed Shanoas dash canceling pneuma. Alucard is straight up BROKEN.
Also Jonathan isn’t anywhere near as bad as people say he is. My Jonathan is doing around 150-220 on regular whip hits and I’m only 6/12 Maxed sub weapons with everything else at 8. I’m wearing Simon’s Bandana, Berserker Mail, Simon’s Sandals, Assassin’s cape and 2 Meginggiords. His Shurikens and Wrecking ball hit like trucks as well as his Martial Arts. He’s not the worst character in the game. I think he’s probably one of the best. Between his sub weapons, his martial arts and the fact his Simon’s gear gives him such dramatic stat boosts. I think he’s extremely solid and next to Soma he probably has the most utility in the entire game.
His only real downfall is the grind. You also need to be really good at doing forward roll and sonic strike on the fly but that is not really a drawback it just means he has to work for his bread.
Broken tier is Soma alone. Only stage he can’t shortcut (unless you count warping through final guards) with yorick/puppet master is Drac’s, and none of the bosses have a way to stop medusa head.
Shanoa is better than Johnathan. She has great MP regen, her weapons are better than whip (even if they don’t do more damage), and her spells are all useful (aside from fire). I’d say they are same tier, but Shanoa still slightly above. If nothing else, the MP regen on him creates a gap.
I’ll admit I abused the hell out of Soma when farming Death but I just don’t see him as better than Alucard. When it comes to speed I’ll give it to Soma. As a character overall I think Alucard is better. My reason for believing this is simple:
Easiest farm in the entire game for what he turns into.
He may not get to Puppetmaster or Death or Drac the fastest but when he gets there he kills bosses straight up. Alucard doesn’t need to waste time farming a goddamn Medusa head for 2 hours to get a goddamn soul drop (damn right I’m salty about that but that is not my point). At the start he requires any weapon + his shield to do great damage and has great survivability. When hard mode starts one of his best weapons can be bought in the shop and its so damn good you don’t have to get rid of it till you get to CH 5 hard mode where you can farm Yasatsunas and once he gets two of those (which doesn’t take long at all). He’s done - everything else is just icing on the cake.
When you can put 1 item on a character that is very very easy to find and combine it with a starting ability that doesn’t need to be farmed at all (Mist) and turn a character into a boss killing monster who can only get better. He’s broken. That is just how I feel.
I will concede to you that Soma is 1st and undisputed champion when it comes to Utility. I think the amount of time it takes to farm Soma although not as bad as the other 3 characters in the game makes him A+ but definitely not broken. I think the reward that Soma get is equal to the amount of time you spend playing him. The more time you put into him the better he gets.
Also I think Shanoa caps out way too early to be better than Jonathan. Better MP regen yeah but thats about it. Might be the Castlevania Bloodlines fanboy in me talking though.
You know what would be nice? If I could get a Val from Drac. I killed that fool like 20 times yesterday and didn’t get shit useful cept the tunic and his soul. What is Soma’s best weapon aside from the Val?
