Castlevania Comic in stores this week

Castlevania The Belmont Legacy Issue 1 will be in comic book stores this week. It’s from IDW the people behind the Metal Gear Solid comic and Silent Hill since they have the Konami License. The story very oddly focuses on the first Casltevania Gameboy game hardly anybody played. The author in a Play Magazine interview said there will be no Alucard showing up, no flying Medusa Heads showing up and he said his favorite Castlevania game is Lamment of Innocence. Umm… well, the art looks nice and since Castlevania is another great 2D franchise, hope everyone gives it a chance and maybe if it does well we’ll get a series of characters we actually care about like Simon Belmont, Alucard, Richter, Trevor and so on.

Like Dracula tells Richter in Symphony of the Night, “But enough talk! Have at the!”

Ah, IDW (“we are better than everybody, we have better paper than everybody, so our comics are more expensive, shut uuuuup”).

PASS!

Wow ! I gotta pick that up !

Symphony of the Night, huh. Alucard is the Man ! and what’s his face from Aira of sorrow. Damn these Castlevania games and there hard to spell names ! I only know two languages ! Gibberish and Engrish. LOL

Seriously looks good.

Well shit. I thought I had all my spending done for the month…

If it’s like their Metal Gear Solid and Silent Hill comics, I’d imagine it’ll be absolute crap.

No way the Silent Hill comic was good ! Well the ending could of been better. But it followed the story ! I didn’t realize this intill I read the TPB though.
It had Alessa in it and took place before Silent Hill 1.

But I do admit it could of been done better.

Id buy it. If I had the money LOL!

I thought the comic was okay. The best part was Dracula’s ressurection, I always pictured it would look something like that in Simon’s Quest. The art’s not so great and I guess it’s too early to pass judgement on the story. It was cool seeing some of the classic Belmonts depicted in the Belmont hall.

One thing that was a bit off was Curse Castle seemed to have been erect long before Dracula reappeared. The Castle is supposed to reform itself from it’s rubble on the Day Dracula returns to Earth. I suppose in the comic the Castle’s ‘rebirth’ was a gradual thing over the course of 100 years or so.

I’ll stick with it and see how it turns out.

I just got the comic yesterday and i’ll agree with ya on the Draculas Ressurection part! That was sweet! I can’t wait for #2!

I really didn’t like it. It reminded me of a 80’s He-Man comic.

I felt the exact same way. I can’t speak much for the Silent Hill comic, but at least the Metal Gear Solid comic has interesting artwork from Ashley Wood, and they’re taking some creative new turns as far as the story goes.
