i clicked this thread by accident, but this totally made it worth it.
and as far as the justice system goes, after talking to my friend who works for the federal public defender’s office about prosecution success rates makes me want to shake the hand of anybody that manages to get acquitted for anything, ever.
^ that’s because the overwhelming majority of people who get to trial are guilty as fuck
but 97% of federal cases result in convictions. at the state level it’s lower but still, i find it hard to believe that a guilty person is sitting there, given those stats, the plea offer AND still trying to go to trial.
…that said, after reading depositions and given the rundown on their defendants, i can’t really disagree with you lol
either way, if i’m ever for trial i’m fleeing whether i did it or not.
oh and one more thing, i wonder how many people who bitch about verdicts are the same ones breaking their backs to dodge jury duty.

no doubt, all the innocence in the world isn’t enough to make me feel confident or comfortable sitting in a court room, i’d be nervous as fuck knowing how likely i am to get put away even if i’m not guilty
