I have a PS3 and a PS4 and the setup process is way faster and easier to do on them.
I think I remember reading somewhere that the WiiU is almost unusable without the initial update and that seems to be the case, because every option on the main menu took forever to open (I was trying to do something without the update). Just the process of updating is painful and slow and I feel like back in 2012 when everyone was complaining about the update of the WiiU.
Not that the PS3/4 are perfect, but they seem way better than the WiiU in that regard

Yeah . . . . .Today is a great day. My girl bought Bayonetta 2 for me and took me to see John Wick (GOOD MOVIE BTW). The gun play for today is of GDLK levels. All for my b-day, which is the 25th. TOMORROW IS MINE!
So, I get out of work, walk into a gamestop. The only person in the store is an employee who was leaning over the desk reading some magazine. As soon as he sees me he gets this “oh, shit” look on his face, jumps from his slump, and yells “Good evening, sir! How can I help you?” on some responding to a drill sergeant tip. This is how the convo goes:
I walk up to the counter, slowly.
SWB: "Yes, I’d like to purchase a Wii U and a copy of Bayonetta 2."
Clerk: "Brand new?"
SWB: "Both the console and the game, yes."
Clerk: "Sure thing, sir. Do you have a Power card?"
SWB: "No. I do not."
Clerk: “Ok, let me go to the back and bring the console out.”
Keep in mind I’m dressed sharp as fuck. Expensive suit, tie, my employer’s badge around my neck (flipped it around so cameras wouldn’t catch my name). So I’m looking mad official. I had a mean mug, too. In addition, I have a pretty deep voice and I sound white as fuck. Dude probably thought I was some high ranking executive in some big ass company. He went, grabbed the console, then opened up a drawer full of Bayonetta 2 copies. He pulls one out–a brand new one still in the wrapping.
Clerk: "Sir, I want to let you know that this game is rated ‘M’ for mature. Is that ok?"
SWB: "…"
Clerk: “…”
I stared him down for like 10 secs. Putting the fear of god into him. This little nigga thought I had kids and I was buying this shit for them!!
SWB: “Thank you for letting me know. That’s fine.”
Dude let out the biggest sigh of relief I’ve ever heard, followed by an awkward chuckle.
Clerk: "Was there anything else you needed today, sir?"
SWB: "Does the Pro Controller come with the console or do I have to purchase it separately?"
Clerk: "It’s a separate purchase."
SWB: "Add that to the other two then, please."
Clerk: "Sure thing. Your total is $430-something something. Debit or credit?"
SWB: “Debit.”
I enter my pin, he finishes the transaction. He didn’t even bother trying to sell me pre-orders or the extra shit they usually try to push. That poor sumbitch knew it in every fiber of his being and in the depths of his soul not to even check to see if I play that. He already knew.
SWB: “Thank you, Bobby.”
His real name isn’t Bobby. Fake name used to protect the innocent.
Clerk: "No sir, thank you! Have a good night, sir!"
SWB: “You as well.”
I slowly walk out.

At least I finished setting up my WiiU and my Nintendo ID and had some fun playing Mario Kart 8 with my wife.
Let’s hope I can find a copy of Bayonetta 2 tomorrow
How do you turn off gamepad if you using pro controller?
Just do the initial update and get it done. The first OS for Wii U yes was slow as balls but it’s been fixed since then. The only questionable thing at this point is why has Nintendo not started putting the OS on the new Wii U’s out of the box.
shit forgot to check into that. hold on. Ok so when you press the home menu in the upper right will be controller settings. Click on that and then there will be an option on the left side that says display off.

Moon River isn’t as catchy as Fly Me To The Moon, but I’m sure I’ll be singing this shit too by the end of the game…

Streaming for charity today at 3pm EST. Bayonetta 2 will make an appearance, for those of you that don’t have it yet and want to check it out.
I actually haven’t opened up my Wii-U yet, so this will be a legit first time playthrough. Might stream the unboxing too, lol
Having so much fun. Buying the moves again hits me in the feels. The gameplay is so fucking smooth. Holy shit. Micro$oft and $ony missed out on this game. the graphics are gorgeous too. Platinum and Nintendo did an excellent job so far. Back to binge playing.
