All the more reason for a one console future. People don’t want to make unfavourable decisions, so wouldn’t it be better to have all of your favourite games on one console?
That is a good point, but only time will tell, remember that for now, the major part of the fanbase of nintendo is still kids and soccer moms (due them being the core demographic of the Wii), and of course the nintendrones, but the later are only interested on nintendo stuff, and the former have less chances of getting it since their mothers wouldn’t allow it.
Maybe if they add mario or someone similar on B2, then perhaps the nintendrons would try it
My Snes, nes, and genesis still get more play time than any of the consoles out right now(I only play fighting games on xbox occasionally) but that is irrelevent.
The fact is even if you wait a couple years to buy this system when it is cheap you still are able to play this game because Nintendo decided to pick it up.
A one console future is nothing but an utopia. Can you imagine the kind of shit these companies would pull if there weren’t competition?
Unless the console was Valve’s. In that case, all hail the Steam overlords.
The problem with a one console future is that there is no competition, and thus much less reason to try improving your product. If Nintendo can bring back some of the series I actually enjoy, I’ll pick up a Wii U…but, that’s probably not gonna happen. Oh well.
This is amazing news. Considering I only planned on buying the wii u as my only next gen console this.
I bought a PS2 for MGS2 and PS3 for MGS4, I forget what motivated to get an original XB. Turns out more good games for both consoles showed up.
Not only that, the game would be a downgraded version of the game, due the 360 being a drag on the graphics department, there is no way that micro$oft would allow to have a inferior version than the ps3 on a simultaneous release
I bought a Wii for madworld, after that, nothing so it is not always good
edit
I remembered that i also bought TVC and GGXXAC, still not much considering that GGXXAC+ on PS2 make my wii copy obsolete, and TvC was dead on arival
fucking worst news of my day.
can you rent systems anywhere?
Rumor has it that that is what Nintendoland is supposed to be trying to do. On the surface it looks like a bunch of little mini games but it is supposed to get casual gamers introduced to some of the core nintendo franchises in hopes of making them popular enough that they can put the money down to make the games
Actually, I saw a few Blockbusters doing this during the last generation, but…Blockbuster is gone and all for the most part.
Well Metroid is basically getting fucked hard. The scary thing is that the people behind Other M want to work on a sequel. fuck that noise. The first new thing about F-Zero in nearly seven years is about a god damn amusement park ride (zzzz.) I liked Sunshine but Galaxy didn’t really hit it off with me, and I haven’t enjoyed any of the new Mario titles since Galaxy came out. While I’m okay with same old shit over and over Zelda, I am not okay with progressively shorter, easier, “what art direction do I want to do” so I kinda stopped caring after Twilight. And I doubt Nintendo is going to get the rights to Lunar 3, Alundra, MMX9, or MML3.
Nintendo is gonna have to pull some magic if they want my money this time. Bayonetta 2 was an interesting try, but it’s not enough for me.
edit: just checked, Nintendo pushed Pikmin 3 to the Wii U apparently. lol thanks assholes.
Hopefully that is the case. I’d gladly jump ship if Nintendo treated the Wii U like they treated the Gamecube instead of treating it like the Wii.
Time will tell.
Sega won’t do shit. They have long lost their luster and just won’t do it. I mean, they even confirmed that Shenmue 1 & 2 HD have already been made and they are hesitant to release it.
i bought a wii for smash and that didn’t turn out well at all.
i even gave up halfway through hacking it because there weren’t any games worth playing to me.
Tastes, colors, etc etc.
If it weren’t for FGs, the wii would be my most played console this gen. I know it’s hard to believe but the wii has a lot of great to amazing games
The big problem with the Wii was the big gap between it and the xbox/ps so third party was crap. First party titles were always pretty good so if the Wii U can interest casuals in their first party titles that arent mario, we should see some returns of their other franchises. I personally would really like another sidescroller metroid but would be ok with the FPS metroid as well. Also F-Zero, yes.
This is amazong news. Fuck the haters!
Meow.
Play n Trade does if you have one in your area.
good for you
